    Forge's 86

As I joined here a few months after getting the 86, there are changes/mod's I've made to date, my goals* now I've had the car a while is to stick with NA and tweak the handling, the sound system and keep it reasonably clean (* subject to change of course ) First off a detail so that I have a good base to work with Mudflaps Audio V1.0 seeing a man about something shortly for V2.0 Grimspeed Oil Cap Airfilter Change LED in the boot Bonnet Struts Laile Beatrush Master Cylinder Brace Sharkfin Rear Diffuser Strut Brace StopTech Pads and Discs all Round That brings up to today

We don't use the GT86 as a daily driver, not sure IMHO it would suit an auto.

    Forge's 86

So my final mod is to undo most of the mod's, time has come (albeit probably sooner than I had considered) to part with the GT86. It's been a fun 9 months, have enjoyed all the stuff I have done to and in the car. MrsForge was after a automatic after I changed my daily and we have a few bits we need to do around the house in the next few months and need to save some cash. I was at that Super or Turbo charge crossroads having honed the handling and indeed my own skills through training where I could use more, in the end it's a mod to far for me and the money spent on that can be saved and put towards something else that with more go as standard so I don't have to mod it. We've traded our Leon FR for a Cupra 280 DSG which I am going to try on track see how DSG is on track, then decide what fits in the spring. I have met some great people, seen some great cars and have some great memories Thanks for being part of my GT86 time.

    Gone too soon

Sorry to read this Will, ST are great cars, we've had a couple of Focus ST's over the years and Ford make a tidy handling hot hatch, glad your ok.

    Touch & Go DAB options

Had DAB fitted yesterday pleased with it, does what I need. I am aware it's more weight, best I get to the gym........

    Forge's 86

Added DAB yesterday (Tuesday) thanks to RRG Macclesfield for sorting, also had offset top mounts fitted to adjust the camber on my standard suspension setup. Initial thought is sharper steering, going for a proper drive tomorrow, as had to get home pick up daily hack and get to London.
  14. PM sent great idea, thanks
  15. Just booked up with Javelin, on the list is another GT86 anyone from here? It's on a Monday good start to a week I reckon

    Decision to make

Does that mean by not ordering the Red one on Friday your "forced" possibly into the Aero timings going to be tight for 1/9
  17. forge197

    Decision to make

Is the TRD being replaced by the Aero then?

Snetterton 22nd September - Track Day

That would be good, what were you in last time?
  19. forge197

    favourite tires?

Goodyear F1 suits it on the road but they are not great on track, as a road tyre think they are excellent, on the track I have found them out of their depth, I'll be trying AD08 next time around.

    Decision to make

Then your choices are limited to a red version of more of the same, though I am sure you'll make it unique ;-) maybe get the yellow aero lined up for March?
  21. forge197

    Decision to make

I've recently waited 5 months for a car and actually almost 10 months since I first considered placed deposit changed mind and managed get the slot back (not a Toyota), as there is a new option and it's the Aero I'd wait for that you've had a TRD the aero might not be much different but it is the closest to a facelift we will see and if you can get yellow that would be pretty unique I'd wait and get the Aero.

    Ford Mustang

I do wonder what goes though people's minds really, it is luck that has avoided injury. Not the best viral advert for the car looks like it handles really unpredictably. Don't like the Essex clip that is awful, looks deliberate
