  1. Now contacted this chap: http://media.toyota.co.uk/2013/08/matt-harrison-appointed-president-and-managing-director-toyota-gb-plc/ straight to the top Matt Harrison, President and Managing Director, Toyota (GB) PLC
  2. I've been dealing with Scott Brownlee. Claire Rowley and Richard Seymour whoever they are
  3. Another email from Toyota Customer Relations.. Date now moved to 11th march.....I'll believe that if/when it happens. They offered me a free first service as compensation. I don't want ANY compensation - I find that insulting - I've already paid for a service plan anyway...and an oil change? WOW! Pathetic I DON'T WANT ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA OTHER THAN MY CAR BACK SORTED IN A TIMELY MANNER Why don't they get this? Telephone Jiffy Bag Fedex IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE I'm just a customer therefore not important enough
  4. 9 days, not 4 weeks - those 9 days became closer to 6 weeks in a matter of days Irrespective of what Toyota should/should not have told me the fact remains that they stipulated 13 Feb and should be able to honour that. The fact that they can't demonstrates that their system is broken and that they are not committed to the customer. My business would cease to function if we did not meet the customer's expectations for delivery. Defend them all you like Rob, it's not the way to treat customers. It took me all of 5 days to get stuff from Japan and cleared customs - if I can do that in that time then Toyota certainly could if they wanted to. They obviously don't want to. the customer is obviously not important.
  5. That's the point - it does not!!
  6. Keith - I have been in touch with Toyota Customer Services already. While being sympathetic with my plight they seem unable to expedite the parts required any quicker. They have not been able to offer an explanation as to why their computer should say one date on 4th Feb and another a few days later. They haven't offered an explanation as to why it takes so long. I'm not interested in a courtesy car, I just want my car back with the work done. I'm just frustrated and feel that the "That's the way it is, hard cheese" attitude is not the way anyone should be treated. I do not believe that I am the first person in Europe to have required these parts and I find it shocking that Toyota have not made provision for this situation- it does happen.
  7. Do you lot all think this is acceptable? This is indicative of what's wrong with this country, too ready to accept mediocrity. Unless people complain then nothing will change.
  8. Oh I've already complained to Toyota. I wish that were true - I must be VERY unlucky as the same thing happened to me with a Mazda in 2007...I really don't think the odds are all that low at all. Isn't that what happens with most cars that is stolen with a tracker on it?
  9. While I understand what you're saying Rob it still sucks being on the receiving end. I really think it is no way to treat customers. To my mind the supply date should form part of the contract between the customer and the dealer. The dealer should be able to honour that date. I know that my business would cease to be if my supply dates were wrong by a month. Why do car manufacturers think it's OK to treat customers this poorly?
  10. I got told today that this is the first time 'in Europe' that this has been done. Really? I mean REALLY? I very much doubt that however I was told these were 'the facts' - yes of course they are. Anyway apparently the dealer is blaming TGB's computer which apparently said 13 feb initially then changed to 14 mar...this is apparently linked to the factory production schedule....of course it is - if it was then surely the part 'available' on 13 feb would still be available today as i am told that nobody 'in Europe' has ever needed that part.......... Do you ever get the feeling you're being taken for a ride?
  11. Not unless I want to travel a great distance. All my local dealers are run by the same company. No choice. Not sure it's the dealer tbh as it's Toyota who supply the parts, isn't it?
  12. yes their system is junk.To inaccurately predict an ETA with a >400% error is a joke. (9 days to 6 weeks + ) I would rather they give ACCURATE information in the first place and not lie to their customers. That's what they're doing, they're lying to their customers. No way to treat us if you ask me. Whatever way you look at it 6 weeks plus is a disgrace. I cannot be the only customer in Europe this has happened to. Are they not prepared for such eventualities? They should hold some stock in Europe, surely?
  13. My insurance company have nothing to do with this - it would be the same situation if they were involved. It's Toyota's utter incompetence at giving the customer accurate information and their total lack of ability (and seeming lack of interest) to resolve the situation in a timely manner.
  14. Well their system is junk. I have never been so frustrated as I have been with these muppets. Several times during initial purchase delivery date was changed. They screwed up the install of my arm rest at initial delivery - then denied that they had omitted 2 bolts even when I showed them! ( days of arguing). the pain of getting the DAB module installed and now this. Bunch of retarded muppets. The worst customer experience I've ever had with ANY manufacturer.
  15. Oh yes I've dealt with car companies before but NEVER a company with as many false promises as this one.Several times during the initial purchase my delivery date was changed...then all the grief over fitting the DAB module and now this. I initially went through the dealer but have today taken it up with Toyota HQ. Is it unreasonable to expect to be told exactly what to expect at the outset? Is it unreasonable to expect my car to be fixed in a couple of weeks rather than a couple of months? I really don't think so. This maybe someday perhaps with a favourable wind attitude stinks.
  16. I am waiting on:- TSU003-01423 x1 key kit TSU003-04910 x1 ECU TSU003-05123 x2 SMT transmitter I think that to have to wait so long for the parts is appalling service whatever they are. What makes it worse is that they initially quoted 13th Feb and now another month. It's like they haven't a clue what's going on.
  17. My 86 has been found!!! It was parked up in a residential cul-de-sac 7 miles from my house!!! It was called in by a member of the public! Facebook ftw!! I am not allowed to see it until forensics have finished with it. I have just delivered the other key to the recovery company that is holding it. The police tell me there are 'no visible signs of damage'. I reserve judgement on that as their assessment of what constitutes damage may be different from mine. The spare key is still out there so IF i accept it back I shall have to get the locks reprogrammed and a new key issued. But I am experiencing a little relief!

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

It'll be up for insurance renewal at the end of the month. I will be changing insurers, I'm sure. Yep it is a bit shitty...there was obviously a reason this insurer was far cheaper than the rest. Yes I was insured for theft, but how many thefts are recovered? Not many. I can't say i blame them for wanting to record it if they pay out. yes I think it's a bit shitty but rather take the 2k hit now than a >2k hit if/when I come to sell, assuming I can sell.

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

Enterprise Their claims handler told me that at the moment it is not recorded stolen/recovered but if I wanted insurance to cover any of my expense then it would have to be.

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

So it's going to cost £2k to sort it. Insurance not paying - they will CatD it if asked to pay. There goes my Cosworth cash... It's only money.

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

The stolen key still has a physical blade in it that allows entry when the battery is flat.It is this that I have asked to be made useless, which is why I can't understand why it would be this request that prompted talk of new ECU. I have spoken with Richard and he's looking into it for me.
  22. Twigman

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

I don't think so, although the police don't divulge much.I don't think they got any prints from the car. Not even my own! That's how clean I kept it!!
  23. Twigman

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

The point is they know where the car lives, They know they have the key. If they can get in they can get into the boot and under the bonnet. I won't be comfortable until the car is secure.

    MY 86 HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

they claimed they could reprogram the ECU, the existing key and issue a new key for the £240 + £70 It was when I requested a new physical lock - so that the physical key wouldn't grant them access to the car that they started making noises about a new ECU. Something's a bit smelly. I have left a message for Richard to call me - he should be able to clarify my position - not heard a bad word about the bloke.
