Isn't worth doing pistons with what you're doing. Rods is more than enough

Yeah I have no leaks anywhere that I can find. Checked the cam plate cover as well. No leaks at all. Mine happens when recirc is on mostly as well but sometimes when not. Changed my cabin filter. See how that goes

I have a 2015 manual 21k miles. Every so often with AC on (at least this is when I notice) I get a funny smell coming through the vents. Can't really describe the smell but I thought maybe it was due to aftermarket exhaust and decat. Looked under the bonnet can't see any leaks but there is some muck on the piping at the very back of the bonnet behind the engine.
I wouldn't call it a foul smell but it's just weird that it comes intermittently.

My air con is pretty chilli. Like insanely cool and comes on pretty fast. Faultless. 2015 model here.

I think I saw you on the A12 on Friday alittle before mid day. Caught a glimpse. I was headed towards Colchester and you was in other direction?

If you can't stand on the splitter, it's not functional.

I have similar issue with the closing. I have to slam it pretty hard. If you aren't happy with it, may as well get rid of it. But if you can look past it for what it is then keep it.

The cobra systems look OEM as long as you don't get the jap style

Good thing with TD na kit is you can upgrade you to there turbo so if you're interested in their turbo it's a no brainer. If you're after an avo turbo I'd just save and for it and forget the TD manifold

Yeah the stanced guy is my friends cousin so. It depends what you're after tbh. UEL will eliminate the torque dip you see at 3-5k rpm but falls out of efficiency. The EL does something to the torque dip to reduce it but it's still there but has better high end power.
Mine was mapped on road so I don't have any figures but it's noticeably more punchy.
It depends on what your future goals are
For me I plan to supercharge so I went for EL as the supercharger will eliminate the torque dip anyways so I wasn't to bothered about UEL.
Some like the burble of UEL. If you get really fussy you could say UEL is less reliable on engine compared to EL due to uneven pressure between the runners but I don't know how negligible it is or isn't.

There aren't too many gt86 around the south east area. Myself, Andy, there's a guy with a facelift red gt86 in charlton and 13 plate red stance biased gt86 near welling also.
I'm from deptford myself but I work in blackfen so always in the area with my 86.
I'll let Andy tell you his set up, but for myself, I'm running a tomei 421 equal length header with a cobra resonated catback.
Had the car mapped my fensport earlier in the week. UEL is good for eliminating the torque dip.

My Tpm light still functions correctly

What rear lip diffuser are you using mate? And how does it attach? I have HT auto on the rear section of my bumper but wondering if a rear diffuser to go under the exhaust will interfere if it attaches via the same part from the bumper.

Not sure what kind of cat ft86 use on their UEL but not sure if decatting 2nd cat would be the greatest from an emissions and mot point of view but I could be wrong.
I've got my manifold decatted but running the primary 2nd cat. Maybe swap out for a HFC if I can find a suitable set up which will still pass mot

Spoiler, manifold sold. Head unit no longer available. Catback and lights still available. Catback needs to be gone - £50
Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk -
@graham86 you have a decat manifold and high flow catted front pipe? Does this pass mot on emissions

There's a video thats on YouTube just been uploading by some Aussies. Who have had their rods go at about 400bhp. Pretty interesting watch as they take apart the engine and show you.
If I remember where on YouTube I'll post a link.
I know I'll go supercharger route but thought hmm if I went harrop and eventually wanted more power to do internals and then ask if harrop could make their smaller pulley. Haha now I'm dreaming
Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk -
I was just watching the harrop video. Putting all forged internals aside, they reduced pulley size and got the car up to 380bhp.
I know cosworth do their 10% smaller pulley but is it simply reducing its size that's required to get additional boost?

Used one of those android apps with a noise reader. Not sure how accurate it is but I get about 90db idling but abit over 100db when giving it the beans.

I have the same exhaust but my manifold is decatted. Sounds odd they would punish cars that are loud from factoryI looked up the law and there's just a dB value. Not any information on RPM, distance or anything useful. They have been enforcing it in places in Europe, but it varies from a telling off, to loosing your car for 3 days. This includes stock exhaust system on Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLaren's, looking at the impound list.
I plan in getting away with it while I can, I have a resonated cobra exhaust while it's fine at normal driving, put your foot down and it's fairly loud.

Articles everywhere regarding the trialling of noise cameras. Google it and see a plethora of em. Lol.. how many of us are going to swap out our systems. Super Res incoming xD

How do you even clean a car with a vented bonnet xdThe Sprintex definitely has the best whine, its sound is completely infectious. I had one on my CR-Z and it's an excellent linear unit and pretty bomb proof.
There is no doubting that it gets hot, though. Once I got a vented bonnet then the problem went away, as plenty of cool air flowed over it and boost didn't drop even in the hot summer.

Just went to sniff some anti freeze. It doesn't smell like this. I dunno how to explain it. It isn't even a bad smell like that. And it comes every so often for a couple seconds then disappears and comes back. You're all free to come round and smell it lol
