Ok nvm haha I'll look for another wheel with that offset

How does that work to get it lower? Is this adjustable lol. I thought whatever it is states on the advert is what it is?

Hey guys,
I've provided the following link - https://www.driftworks.com/rota-grid-17-in-flat-black-17x8-5x100-et42.html
looking at this set of rotas but dont actually know much about offsets and so forth and find it awfully confusing.
anyways, my car is currently stock and im after something slightly thicker (hence the 8") and thought these look pretty nice.
will these be a suitable straight swap; i am currently on stock suspension.
also, is this a reputable brand of alloy to buy from?
any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Boot insert?
Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk -
Think drop in brakes disc and pads should be sufficient but if you are changing brake fluid, maybe worth getting it changed with some better fluids.
I personally wouldn't go bbk with just street use. Regular tracking then I would.

I'd be interested in buying the valentis off you if you're willing to sell separately. Pm me if you have a price

Do you have those rubber/synthetic boot insert available?

excuse the noobie question but how do you fit these? XD

London - you don't see many 86/brz round here. I've seen one fella with a facelifted version who I think is local and one other with a 12 reg but that was only once thigh I hear he's local too. But these cars are rarely seen round here.Toyota dealership over in Yeovil. Which was just over 100 miles away for me.
If I was less picky on mileage I could have got one closer, but I'm near London.

Normally on a GT86 if it's outside the 5 year warranty, they you give you 12 months at the Toyota dealership. If it's still within the 5 year warranty they won't extend it for you unless there's less than 12 months remaining at which they will give you 12 months.
At least this is my experience

The shims do get dirty as hell. One of the pads was stuck and I had to remove the caliper to bash it out! That was the loudest squeaker!Shims! That's the word lol
Glad its pretty much sorted for you!
Guess I have a set of OEM pads for sale soon. Plenty of life in them, probably 80% pad still left.

1 hour ago, nerdstrike said:Milton Keynes Toyota, may they be struck by meteorite or falling space station.
whats wrong with Milton Keynes Toyota
Got mine from Toyota dealer in Northampton

Update: fitted some pagid pads from Eurocarparts for £25. sounds fine now lol. still squeal every now and then but nothing like before and now just sounds normal which is great
-
those are the shims right lol.
haven't got round to picking them up yet from eurocarparts.
i actually took it to a quiet road and got it up to 60mph like 4 times and emergency stopped and became travel sick hahaha.
so thought it might have cured it but it hasn't lol
had to change my braking somewhat to minimise the squeal but will head off to eurocarparts tomorrow to pick up the pads. ordered the ones for 16 inch wheels!
-
I'm gonna go supercharger. Once I ever get round to it. But like above mentioned I like where the avo sits

Lol? Excuse the stupid question but just been on euro car parts. The two options on brake pads for rears says they are for 15" and 16" wheels. My wheels are 17' as standard? What do I do xD

Ouch haha. Jesus.. wondering if I should just get a cheap set from eurocarparts now and try my luck. Guess no point spending the extra on stop techs.
Strange though, I really had my eye on getting stoptech discs and pads as drop in upgrades

@lauren are you using the street performance pads? Or the quasi ones.
Having a look at them now
Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk -
Thanks Lauren. Stupidly I got so frustrated and posted thread without even Checking for other threads! Saw plenty on this so stop techs incoming! ;-)I've had this before, it's likely a sintered bit of pad which is slightly raised. You can take them off and file down the raised bit of pad. I did this with mine but it returned and then I just ignored it till the pads needed changing. Changing them sorted the issue.

rear tyres/brakes are squeaking excessively and its really loud especially when braking.
at really low speeds eg. creeping traffic, the rear tyres also squeak without even being on the brake!
at first instance i thought i would just replace the disc and pads but im starting to second guess this now that they are squeaking without even being on the brake!
anyone else have any similar problems?

wonder how the prices of the current model will tank once this comes about =0

This is spot on. I've been following the price on these cars for several years now. In the last couple years they've ranged from 13-15k for a decent one but they now seem to be sticking at 12k. ABIT under 12k you're looking at higher mileage ones but I'd say 14-16k you can get some pretty good ones. You are going to be severely limited in choice with a 10k budget. There aren't many around so they tend to hold their value pretty well. Prices drop and seem to be holding around the 12k Mark. If you can dig around for another 2k you will have so much more choice.
