Just wondered out loud.  Back in the days of the Mini and Escort cams were all the rage.  I guess they are much better optimised these days.

The engine runs out of flow at higher RPM and the cams don't seem to be the issue, the article below suggests a 4-6% increase on a FI car which is the best I've seen  ..... plus they are ~£1.5k (4 cams to replace).

Many thanks, Gary & yes my vehicle has a recall from the 23rd March, so contacted Toyota, who reassures me I am not in any danger, and I can still drive around safely!! furthermore, they tell me they have not received a confirmation as yet what this defect is...

Well they should have, the whole world knows:

I’m thinking of getting the cobra decat front pipe on my TRD GT86 (quad exhaust) will this bring up warning light on the dash (everything else on exhaust stock) will this have any significant gains or is that all to be made from the catless header? And does the sound difference sound good/louder???

No warning lights, no significant gains. Will be louder.

I was thinking of going UEL on the TD na package then upgrade after to the harrop. I don't drive enough at the highest revs to justify El and definitely not using it on track

Then go for one that gives you top end power. A 4-1 rather than a 4-2-1. A PD blower gives you plenty of midrange so a manifold that bumps up around the torque dip and sacrifices a little at top end just won't benefit you.

Thanks. I do quite like the second set. Anyone got experience of the quality?

The 2nd set are actually Valenti Revo semi-replicas - the indicators are different.

I have the MY17 replicas and I'm happy with them - if the other set had been around when I bought them I'd have gone for them I think.

Think you will find TD so popular is because.....

They are cheaper than the others. The most turbo kits fitted in the UK are probably AVO, but then TD came along at a better price point. However I prefer the turbo location of the AVO.

As far as I'm aware, the usb contains the software to allow you to log your data save it and send it away to fensport for mapping, you still have to pay for a license and a remap. It also allows you to upload the map. I've never used so I don't know to much about it. And no it doesn't need registration to a new owner

It's not tuner specific, all kit comes labelled from the Master Tuner it was sold but can be used by any tuner.

The USB dongle is just the software license to be able to run the ProECU software on the laptop (for flashing and logging) and the cable is for connecting to the OBD port in the car.

Is this the kit needed to remap your ECU? Is this all you need? Does it need registering to a new owner?

Yes, EcuTek is the main remapping software in the UK. You also need a license for the ECU in your car if it's not been tuned by EcuTek before but this is usually included in the price when buying a tune
