I went ahead and asked Mark to rename Aug 3rd  as a GT86 & BRZ club member day, so that non-club people will not book it for now. It will stay like this for a week.

We can still do a different day if we decide to, but I figured we protect this one for now since it had the most votes.  As the word is spreading the days are starting to go pretty fast.

So again if anybody else would like to do Aug 3rd, (or July 6th) please let us know.

OK to go ahead and book it up ourselves, or does it all need to go through at the same time?

Technically if you remove either catalytic converter from the car, it should be an MOT fail. Whether it passes the emissions or not.

Yup spot on, if you ever see an MOT with "Undertray fitted" take it that this means they dont have stock CATs but it passed the test ;) Plausible deniability etc.

Stock is live. So if it sells, it jump to backorder straight away / when reloading the page. EBC stuff for example is generally subject to 2-3 days delivery if it's out of stock with us.

OK, should it be blocking me adding to cart if something (the pads linked above) is on Back Order, because that's what is currently happening?

@Kaltorak hit Ctrl + F5 to refresh the page Cache. I checked the link and it worked for me in Chrome, then tired it in Firefox and it had the same issue you've got, but refreshing the page fixed it.

Yup, that got it. Flagged it to chat and they mentioned a lot of people have had the issue, I'll share your fix with them ;)

Waze in uk 🤣 it.s funny but i don.t recommend it. Police is hiding perfectly and people cant tackle them, from the hgv I can see them after passing through - sometimes they have camouflage cars driving around. 3 points and 100£ penalty could be better to pay 1 day for silverstone race track.

It's saved me from the odd ticket thanks to people marking the police, but I mainly use it to avoid traffic. I've learned not to think I know better than the satnav when it directs me down the "wrong" route.

That’s what I’m trying to work out.  Not sure what the charges are once the package hits the U.K.  I knew about VAT and import tax.  But didn’t think about handling fees. What is the handling fee for?

The handling fee is for them taking the time out of their busy day to charge you all the other bits!

Most suppliers in the US.  Take a look at 86Speed. £546 plus approx postage for $100 comes to £620 excluding VAT and import tax.  In the U.K. they are around £760-800 excluding the postage.

Stick VAT on that £546 and you're at £655, then postage, handling fee and import duties. You're looking at a very similar price to a UK supplier and potentially more depending on import duties.

    May not be worth it.....

If it helps, I've just cable tied the switch down so it never gets disturbed.... Can lock the car with the bonnet up without issue. Have you got anything under there worth stealing? ;)

Why didnt I think of that..... Make things easier at trackdays.

Thanks @Kaltorak loving the car. It would be great to catch up at some point - I had close friends in Feltham who have now moved to Ashford but u are not too far off from Ealing

Shame regarding the recent national lockdown announcement - a death kneel to any planned track days over the next 6 weeks I guess. Will have to look forward to some tracks days later in the year ... Bedford seems to be most recommended for a track day novice 🙂

Agreed, once this shits over it'd be good to meet up. I think there are a few other owners around the guildford/woking area that often to get togethers.

Im probably not the best to ask about mods though, only done the TD header, Tires BBK and wheels to fit that. Money goes on trackdays and the tightening the nut behind the wheel :D

  10. Welcome to the club Mani, hope you enjoy the car as much as the rest of us here!

Suspect I'm one of the closer club members as I'm only out Feltham way myself.

For nearby tracks, Silverstone, Brands, Bedford and Thruxton are all pretty much the same travel time ranging from 1:05 to 1:25 each way although it may be 5-10 mins more for you to get to the M25 than me ;)

Bedfords a good safe track simply due to the lack of things to hit! Highly recommend it!

Spoke too soon. Although the engine sounds fine, I had to pop to the supermarket earlier. It's one of those car parks with the aggressive bolt down speed bumps...the kind you have to crawl over as if you're mounting a kerb. As I did, the I noticed a distinct noise coming from the front suspension, a kind of squelchy clonking noise...not metallic though. It definitely wasn't there before going in for the recall.

Anyone know what suspension parts might have been affected by the recall? I think they remove the anti-roll bar and the drop links, but it's not that kind of sharp clonking noise. Sounds like something's loose. Engine mount maybe? But then, the car still feels fine, I thought a loose mount might have resulted in vibration.

I'll have to ring the dealer in the morning, but I guess it won't be dealt with until after Christmas. How annoying 😕

EDIT: Was on the very verge of ringing the dealer this morning, but before I did, I thought I'd check the wheel nuts (they were fine) and take the car for a quick run and replicate the noise again. Went over several speed bumps, and....nothing. Noise seems to have disappeared. So not sure what the hell caused it. So I'll just keep an eye on it and see if it reoccurs. Cars 😕

Those kind of speed bumps are the ones bolted to the ground right? Could be the noise was a loose speedbump/puddle combo?
