Neil, at well over £2000 for a Motec that a £900 DTA can do (as far as what my humble Yaris will require anyway), I think the chances are pretty good. A key point will however, be if Adrian Smith will be prepared to map a DTA ecu. There is no one else I trust to map my car(s) for me.
Completely agree Dave, no one else maps my cars either!
My motec was nowhere near 2k, though guess it depends on what model you are looking at!
(though since i bought mine looks like the M4 has been discontinued )
-
Seems like quite a major build Dave!
Wonder if you will manage to stick to no Motec plans though!!
-
looks very nicely made and braced!

Rob
I heard from him this week on some parts I am looking at.
He had quite a long break after NY and didn't return until 10th IIRC

Any news on GB prices?
-
Thanks Mike, I have decided I will be going forced induction in 2016 (so much for staying standard) and very tempted by this kit
-
I definitely need to follow progress on this one Mike, keep us all updated!
-
I have ordered the double version, been waiting about 10 days so far :-) no rush though as still need to order the gauges!
-
Spotted this coming off the A500 a couple of days back and guessed it may have been the RRG one :-)
-
Really like this! Let me know the GB prices :-)

Great project :-)

Yes, there is that as well!!!
-
Thanks Lauren, will have to call into RRG and have a look

Should have mentioned it is at the airport car park, I did mean to pack my booster pack but forgot :-/
-
So is the shark fin standard issue on the new models now Richard?
-
Have i been imagining stories that the batteries can go flat pretty quickly?
I will be picking mine up on Wednesday morning after 16 days of no use.
should i be making plans to get a booster pack to meet me?!

Just a quick note to let you know the same happened to me, promised a call back a week or two ago, but never received :-/
I am now sorted elsewhere, but all your advertising is wasted if we cant speak to anyone!

Shocking how quick a year passes!
I have just renewed my insurance, so a bit of feedback for anyone else who has theirs upcoming...
I was with Sky last year, and renewal came back about £100 cheaper than last years at £715!
but decided a ring around was in order :
Prestige - promised a call back but never received
A-plan - quoted £585
AIB - quoted £550
Sky then dropped their renewal quote by another £185 to beat AIB
I decided best option was to go with AIB for 2 reasons :
they will be able to offer better cover with my MR2 as a second car.
Principles - If they could offer this price, they should have done this before sending me my renewal, rather than making me do the hardwork
Looking forward to another year in the GT86
-
saves about £40 on tax each year that way, they must be thinking about the long term savings!

ah Matt's car - the dark blue one
good to hear he is not leaving the fold!
You will have great fun in it!
-
Sounds like a great idea!
I too have similar plans to buy something I can crash and not worry to much! Currently looking at a MR2 Mk1 myself. One that's already in the TSS and well known to Adrian. It competed in the TSS last year.
But I totally understand what you're saying regarding crashing the GT86. I could never push my GT86 on track to be competitive in the class that i'd be in.
I heard MR2
Which one are you looking at Jay?

Just checked my costs - was just over £1k including boost control solenoid, 10 position map switch and D9 comms cable foir the M4. I run closed loop on lambda and no pro features like launch control (struggle for somewhere to point the wheel speed sensor!!)
Looks like prices for base ECU have gone up over the last 5 years!
If you are planning on using all of these i guess the DTA could offer a good cost saving!
