Thanks Lauren. Exactly what I was after! I remember keeping a track on oil temps in yours at angelsey.
Also how have people mounted go pro / other cameras in the cabin?
-
I have always worked on building up slowly in the car (which is always a good excuse at the sprints)
This will be built up extra slowly as binning the 86 is not an option!
That said i am still hoping for some rain as it does make things more fun!
-
well i'm certainly out of practice of recent with the MR2 being so temperamental of recent!!
will certainly keep an eye on the brakes then! cheers!
-
haha yes thanks Lauren - i did mean more car related tips specific to the 86, but perhaps didn't make that very clear!
Last time i drove Oulton was in a Caterham R300 - so expect to be a little slower this time round
The car is booked in at RRG Macc. on 31/10 for new front tyres so gives me a couple of weeks to scrub them in. I'm sure Rich's team will give it all the once over for me then.
Brakes is a very good point, i am still on the original pads and discs so worth getting them checked over whilst there. will be interested to see how they fair up on track as heard mixed reviews.
I also have a nice Defi ZD gauge fitted so can keep an eye on the oil temps etc as for some reason i have it in my head these can get a bit high?!

I am finally getting round to getting the 86 on track at Oulton Park on 14th November :-) can't wait!
The last sprint I did in the 86 was, in a word, slow! So looking forward to really getting to know the cars limits and how driving style will need to change from the MR2.
So....
i feel a little lost without 2 pages of jobs to prep.! Any tips on things to look out for?

well that was a pretty dismal weekend :-(
didn't really get to see much of everyone as the afternoon was mainly spent doing some basic diagnosis on the ill fated mr2 engine. problem seems to be valve related, but not going to know for sure until i can recover it back at the weekend.
Didn't get chance to say goodbye to everyone as my sister had to shoot off and she was my lift back. hope everyone had a better day!

And Mark, there's nothing wrong with your accent. Int'eet duck.

Keep the faith Keith :-) I embarked on my stupid mk1 project 3 years ago. 2 engine builds later and blowing 5th out of the gearbox it's finally starting to pay off.
Doing something different to the norm never goes smoothly :-(

I will probably aim to get there about 7ish again.
my replacement radiator for the hilux was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago and still waiting for that :-( if not looks like I will be driving the mr2 up!

I should be free early June so happy to make the Trek down :-)

I have now heard back from Adam, and fingers crossed my parts will be posted tomorrow

Tein Coilover Spring Rate rationale

Hello All
I will be taking the plunge on some new Tein coilovers in March (Flex A), so need to make some decisions on spring rates etc.
What factors people have considered when choosing theirs?
Lauren will be taking me for a spin in hers next week, so sure to get some good advice then :-)
Cheers
Neil
