Hi All
In my quest to get my defi smart adapter working with my head unit i bought this head unit.
The head unit has been rooted with malaysk firmware which includes xposed framework and xposedmtc module
this means you should be able to connect any bluetooth module but i am still struggling to get my defi to connect, so going to pass this head unit on (i believe this to be an issue with the defi rather than the headunit as it also would not connect to the dashlinq!)
There is loads of infor available on these headunits on the xda forums
This headunit has not been installed and only run on my desk!

Thanks

I think both CT and D4 are now out of stock and not to be available again as I also looked at new.
This one then came up so I bought second hand.
Must admit I was having second thoughts running Spotify on it when stick in traffic today. If only they hadn't limited the Bluetooth :-(

Problem on the indicators solved!
Quote form the tapturn website....
After battery maintenance, boosts, disconnection, or accidental discharge you may need to restore TapTurn with a hard reset. Once the battery is in good condition, pull the hazard fuse, then plug the fuse back in. Follow with a soft reset to restore TapTurn to its original shipped condition.
Simples.

Well its installed at the moment so if you wanted to try it your more than welcome - though it would be a bit of a treck!

Haha! - i waited months for one as well! was gutted when it wouldn't connect to my bluetooth module.
Given the money invested in my Defi set up its this that has to go though unfortunately :-(

I hadnt planned to do it. Have a search around and let me know.
there is a good thread on it here :

Hi All
i recently purchased a Dashlinq 4 with the view of running the Defi Smart app on it...
Unfortunately it only allows phone connection via Bluetooth, and no 3rd party devices.
The good news is if you are a "torque" user it will run this natively (provided using their bluetooth module)
I have had a good read around and decided i dont know enough about trying to root it and allow 3rd party bluetooth connections to work. though this does seem possible if you have the right skills!!
without this it really doesnt deliver what i want it to so going to sell it on and look at other options. Gutted about this as it looks fantastic installed and screen is brilliant
Wifi dongle and GPS antenna included
Any questions let me know

I took the car on a little drive last night after jumping it and thought i had put enough charge in it, but on trying to start it this morning there just wasn't quite enough so had to jump start it again :-/
Good news - indicators were working before
Bad new - after jumping they have stopped working again!
Going to leave it a few hours and see if it resets itself again. wondering if the tapturn relay doesn't like jump starts (posted on the US forums to see if anyone else has had the same issue)
driven to work this morning in true BMW style with no indicators as needed to charge the battery!

Hi Dan
I remember the same issue on my old MR2s! I used to keep a spare hazard switch in the car as the dash was in and out that often!!
After not having time to touch it over the weekend, finally got up the loft tonight to get my spare relays out. Battery was completely flat so jumped it before starting and hey presto - all working again.
So haven't got a clue what went on there, but going to keep a spare in the car incase this happens again :-/
Keethos reacted to this -
I would dread to have seen the ill-fitting parts if that was one of the better ones!

Cheers Jay. Didn't think it made sense!
I read that a few times as well so opted for the tapturn as couldn't be bothered with messing around with it if it did fail.
I should have the original and the TOMs in the loft so will dig them out at the weekend and try replacing.
This is turning into more hassle than it should be!!!!

Hi all
Bit of a strange one....
I installed a dashlinq head unit 2 weeks ago and have used the car since.
I had to jump start it this morning (not flat but not quite enough left in the battery!)
Got off the drive and noticed the indicators were no longer working!
Do these earth through the original head unit loom or is something else going wrong?!
I do have an aftermarket relay in for the TOM s tail lights so this could be a weak spot I guess
Cheers

Hi all, apologies for bumping an old thread, but just to check is 56.1 the correct centre bore for the standard 86 wheels?
Cheers, Neil
