  1. AFAIK, the BRZ seats are not retro fitted by Transcal at Portbury docks and are different to the GT86 ones. No known issues with them and they are on cloth/alcantara base (with leather bolsters) , and not full leather like the GT.
  2. I just realised that your starlink is not Android Auto, Apple Car Play compatible. I think from 2018 onwards, they have had their head units compatible with these 2 technologies. Since you are an audiophile, i will not risk comparing audio quality across head units etc. 😀
  3. Looks like a good deal assuming it's one owner and FSH. They have not been clear about it making me assume neither of the 2 are true. Worth checking. Otherwise these cars are pretty much bulletproof. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
  4. Happy to bite your hand off it at that price, if you sell it. [emoji3][emoji3] Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
  5. UK model BRZ is fully kitted out even in SE, so no difference in HID lights etc. Cloth seats , as you rightly say, do not heat up or cool down like leather so heating is a nice to have than must have. Brembo , Sachs are only available in GT86 performance pack, not here in the BRZ unfortunately. They cant be retrofitted without changing wheels as it needs 7.5 width. 6. Off memory, only heated seats and half leather seats are an extra. Optional extras , Alpine head unit and reverse sensors. Rest all same as SE. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Great news and glad its nothing serious. Did the exhaust crack due to additional load the SC is putting or due to an impact with a foreign object? Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Identification request - what component is this?

Any chance it can be your reverse parking sensor connector? Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

  10. Gavin -Sorry to hear. I know you are out of warranty but try reaching out to Kesler in the other forum as he is a Toyota employee and check if you can get a shared contribution / goodwill gesture from Toyota as you dont expect it to go at such low mileage. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
  11. Like Nigel says below, the difference comes in labour costs. To get any aftermarket parts fitter the labour cost is between 80 to 100 £/ hr here Vs 60 to 80 £ up north. I had this argument with my subaru dealer that up north servicing is cheaper and he said think about our cost of the garage and the labour rates we have to pay. So be fair to us and dont ask us to price match like toyota can do via their fixed price servicing. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

All go and no show, describes it well ? We are a hot hatch country, sleeper cars have always been our thing. Now that its early in the new year and i am a bit motivated to give you some numbers but have not included Focus RS, which will be a good competitor to Golf R Statistic Cosworth SC manual Harrop SC manual Golf R Auto Power (BHP) 290 300 296 Torque (LbFt) 243 240 (approx) 280 Weight 1300 (approx) 1300 (approx) 1611 0-62 mph 5.0 ? 4.6 30-70 mph ? ? 4.3 Collected from these sources https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/volkswagen/golf-r https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/toyota/cosworth-toyota-gt86-2015-review/ https://www.carthrottle.com/post/this-300bhp-supercharged-toyota-gt86-is-a-brilliantly-subtle-sleeper/

It is significantly heavier than our cars too. I think in 4th you would've had him. And most golf Rs are DSG so all they do is boot the throttle and the gearbox down shifts Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

    BBK a good idea?

Why dont you try to get a similar quote from your nearest Subaru dealer for a full set replacement and check if it comes any cheaper as they use it on other cars. I suspect it's a rarely replaced part and toyota GB are asking for the part from IM and applying a mark up. Worth double checking just to be sure. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

    ECUTEK map switching

I have not tried the exact same scenario as you but if on the move, I want to change from map 1 to 2 or any for that matter, it is instantaneous and the car restarts from that map. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

is it OK to switch engine treatment?

i feel tempted to reply to this just on the basis of how this conversation is developing. If oil additives really made a difference to the driving conditions a car is supposed to be driven in, a manufacturer in their R&D would've recommended it, like they do recommend premium fuel. No one spends more on R& D than these car manufacturers themselves and anything benefiting and worth copying will be copied by all Lubricant majors ( in their own proprietary form) for a fatter profit margin but they do not which suggests that its benefits are not proven. @MartinT Usage of something over a long time proves that it does not potentially do damage to cars engine but does not prove that it benefits in a measurable way unless you have some measured stats. Did you do an oil analysis showing something valuable? None of the Subaru engines have gone kaput due to the quality of (or lack of quality) engine oil used which highlights something otherwise forums will be abuzz with failures due to oil quality. I changed my oil in 10K miles/1yr and was told there is enough life left in the oil for another 5K, which is worth noting. OilAnalysis.docx

  21. There is a GT86 being broken on the FB page. You might be able to get the look and cool packs , if needed for a good price. Worth trying. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
  22. Sorry to hear Lauren. I am not quite sure of solutions but thinking of the root cause. Did maurice also have the up and over manifold or was his car stock? I am thinking the additional engine bay temp that it introduces could've made the plastics brittle and people with the OE manifold might not face the issue. Thoughts? Stock 2018 wheels and suspension

I am interested in the suspension but want to know what the spring rates are? I believe the 2015 BRZ is 27/34. My aim is to get the car road compliant and not track focused so keen to know if this will make a noticeable difference . Any any idea of installation and tracking charges?
