Makes total sense. So did you add the mid range in addition to the tweeters in the same space on top of the dash or got rid of the tweeters altogether, as I understand. Ideal situation will be to have all 3 , door speakers for bass, tweeters and mid range speakers [emoji344] on top of dash for mid and high range. Interesting. Curious Martin, as to what made you attempt this - On reading it i assume the tweeters were powerful and driving more treble through which you could not balance out using the head unit equalizers and had to change speakers to reduce it?

You ask a very opinion driven question Will. Trying to share my thoughts in parts 1. 5W vs 0W - I have attached the manual page where it shows both oils can go below -18C , so the UK winters are not cold enough and this should not worry you, which ever oil you choose. 2. 0W -30 vs 5W-30 - you are right in theoretically stating that the wider the viscosity gap , the more the viscosity modifiers that are used. I will say with the fantastic quality of oils now , it does not matter that much in practise. 3. Using a quality oil - Millers Nanodrive is a quality product. 5W-30 is almost always a lot cheaper than 0W oils as it is the most commonly used oil in petrol engines and hence you could replace it more often , every 5K miles instead of 10K, if you track it. Bear in mind though, it will be ever so slightly less fuel efficient on daily driving compared to 0W-20 4. I haven't seen many , if any posts around catasteophic engine failures on NA state in this car though many track it. Not everyone is as considerate and researching as you , so i would expect then engine is safe. There were a couple of oil starvation issues but I think they were on wider tyres and sticker rubber hence pulling more g forces and would've probably benefitted with a baffled sump. So if you use regular size tires 215/45 tyres and not some fancy semi slicks, you should be fine on that front. Your engines first wear sign is oil consumption ( or its increase if it already consumed a little) and if it is not showing any such sign, I would not worry about changing the oil type. Not sure if toyota oil temps are higher than subaru due to bumper design and hence air flow as I do not remember seeing such high temps in just 1 lap of bedford in summers. I use nanodrive or fuchs race oil 0w20. How do you measure it? Torque via OBD11 slot or a dedicated gauge tapping elsewhere? Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Is it like driving with the 5th gear on M way Jeff? For lower gears the gap is wider , but 5th and 6th , I think the rpm difference is circa 500 rpm. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

One more variable, the oil cooler would have a bypass valve and not open until the oil is above a certain temperature. So that could contribute to it. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Good luck James. Following your thread carefully. Some initial thoughts- Vland tail lights are great, I have them but am not so sure of the Head. American cousins advise that the light quality and brightness is insufficient for road use. Have a rethink about them. Toyota parts are cheaper due to higher volumes and they import straight from Subaru Japan to Toyota UK while Subaru import from Japan to Subaru Netherlands and then to International Motors UK, the Subaru Franchise here. That my friend is called a mild hybrid not electric because of an e prefix, not a plug in hybrid even. It has no plug in charging capability , it has no Electric only driving capability and its CO2 emission is surprise surprise abysmal (154g/km) as its batteries are tiny and range infinitely small. EU target is below 95g/km to get you back to point. I shouldn't get into it and finish there but just to give you some stats as you throw a random comment. By comparison an equally large Toyota RAV4 hybrid is 102-105g/km. Mitsubishi Outlander is a larger plug in hybrid with 46g/km CO2. Neither of these above are volume sellers. Toyota's key seller is the prius with CO2 of 78-82 g/km depending on wheel size and its plug in version is 28g/km which is what keeps its emission credentials as a fleet in check and below EU norms. Get my drift of what proper hybrid and electric tech mean, not just an e symbol in front but real emissions, charging and electric driving capability! Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Emissions killed the WRX STi too in the UK, EU in 2018. I hope they release a swansong edition and hope it becomes a collector's car. Less than 800 BRZs sold. Subaru's volumes and car mix mean they are significantly penalised over Toyota who have more hybrids in their line up and less SWD. Fair point. The asy 3s were not good. The new 5s were launched only in oct last year and I am curious if someone has really tested them on track and speak by experience as their tech has moved up. OP has not clarified how much of track , so I gave a road option assuming a couple of track days a year, which is what most end up doing unless you are a real enthusiast. If you want the quietest tyre go for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, which is what I use. I have been through PS4 and Primacy and do find them very buzzy on motorway speeds. GT86 is without spoiler, GT86 Pro has a spoiler with delete a free option. BRZ always has a spoiler. OE ones are easy to get as forum members sell theirs. So look out for one in your colour. This is too specific now but continuing for fun and accuracy. Subaru has had 3 seat upholstery , all in pics I took from auto trader today. Only 1 is common with GT86 also in pic.
