    Aren't they full coilovers?

Yes if it’s just dampeners your after I think it’ll be bilstein’s.

is yours a facelift brz? Do they have the changed dampers like the gt86, shameless plug I have some standard facelift shocks for sale which have different dampening settings which make them smoother on the road and I always wondered how these would pair with lowering springs

  2. This was part of the reason why I asked. Of course I will be seeing how my current tyres go but was just after others feed back who have already gone forced induction.
My previous car handled more power fine on these tyres but that could’ve been helped by having more weight above the driven wheels.

  3. Hi, I just wondered what size tyres people are running with turbos fitted?

my car is a daily but is going on a few track days this year. Getting the TD kit fitted in a couple of weeks.

at the moment I’m running 225/40/18 on an 8” wheel, will this be enough tyre for the increase in power?

I’m not sure about fitting 235/40 as I feel the tyres will be getting to big overall 245/35 I would be ok with but would this work on an 8j wheel?

    any input appreciated

  4. I wonder if there is a difference on the temp sensor on the facelift? As on a sustained motorway cruise mine sits around 105-110 stock. On a trackday last month the oil was touching 130 when I backed off and this day was 0-1degree outside so would be far to hot if it was a warmer day. I know it’d run hotter again due to the turbo but wasn’t sure if the thicker oil would mange the temps better

  5. Hi, I am getting the TD turbo fitted in a couple of weeks and just wanted confirmation that the oil cooler is needed. I am planning on fitting one, my car is used as a daily and mostly fairly short trips but I have booked a few track days for this year. I just wasn’t sure how hot this would run with no cooler fitted, I think mike uses 0-40 oil.l

    thanks

  6. I would argue that the primacys should not be fitted full stop. You say use as they were intended but I had quite a few case were mild acceleration coming off a roundabout would kick the back end out. It would be a compromise if you were using something like pilot sports or track specific tyres but for an all round tyre fitted as standard I thought the grip was laughable in anything other than dry conditions

Even on primacies these cars can grip more and go faster then many average generic family cars (wasn't with our cars on primacies that they still could pull 0.75G on skidpad?). If it seems that they are dangerous, imho you are overpushing and driving in too risky fashion. That is if it's about summer use, if winter's, then wrong season tire choice (again not attributable specifically to primacies, but to summer tires in general used in wrong season/weather). Normally one shouldn't get better tires for it to be "safe"/"not end up in ditch", but rather rethink how one drives, as most traffic signs (eg. about sharp turn ahead) / posted speed limits / average traffic flow speed are erred more on safe side for even less capable/grippy cars. You chosen all seasons for winter, did wise, but it doesn't mean that primacies are inherently bad, just used (if now) in wrong way/season.

Going to have to disagree with this I found primacys shocking in cold and wet weather even when driving slow and sensible. I would put them worse than pretty much any of half decent tyre on any car iv drive . They were far to easy to slide on the road when not even trying and the amount of time my traction control used to kick in was laughable. Got an uphill dual carriage way slip road by my house and the tc used to kick in sometimes changing from 2nd to 3rd on stock power .

The pilot sport 4 are so much better in all conditions. It was slow but did do a track day at 0degrees on them and think that would have been impossible on the primacys

Oh. As it's one of mods i'm interested in .. can you comment a bit more detailed on ergonomics of operating light stalks with spacer installed?

Just had a sit in, I will have to remove my hand I think to operate the levers. Although I have quite small hands for my size so you might just get away with keeping your hands on the wheel.

I’m just about 6’3 with long arms and legs before i could never have my leg straight on the brake or clutch I had my legs bend around the sides of the wheel.
now it clears a good inch or 2, pic below shoes my leg just resting on the brake pedal

  9. Just to add I went ahead and ordered the 949 spacer and have just had it fitted. Only drove for 2mins but it gives so much more room for knees and legs. Might take a while to get used to the indicators but think it is worth it plus can always get the little extenders for them.

also mine is a 17plate with the steering controls and they only had to extend the horn wire for reference, the controls looms he said was a little snug but it did just fit and all controls work as before

Half a degree will not really make any differences. It's the toe settings, particularly the rear which change how it feels in terms of stability. More toe in on the rear equals more stable and the opposite is true of course. What are your toe readings?

I didn’t get a print out, the garage I usually use its hunter machine was down so took it somewhere else. Just asked for the settings above. Will have a proper go the weekend it definitely feels sharper though. I reckon my chambers gone up about 1.5degrees not 0.5. I would take a guess I was running 0.5-1 before the alignment.
