    Simply Japanese 2019

Great to see Graham, Lee, Louise and Kevin yesterday. As discussed with you, Lee, there were a large number of GT/BRZs dotted about the show. I took photos to save me counting, and on checking back I find I have 13 single cars and also a group of 4 parked together. Imagine if all the twins could have been parked together. Some quite lairy customised 86s were present at the show (included in the numbers above). I really like the front end of the latest model year of the BRZ (see below). I am also getting used to the new Supra shape, but that is one great expanse of bonnet on there, and from some angles it looks a bit shapeless (to me) even with the vents cut in.

Tickets bought, but sadly will not be in the GT. Julia has recently had fairly major surgery and soft suspension will be the order of the day.

Newbie from Kent with an Orange GT86

Welcome Charlie. Love that first photo especially!! I am in East Sussex so not too far away.
  4. Regarding the Cosworth whine, since I removed the under bonnet insulation, the whine is much more noticeable, especially during routine town driving. Very enjoyable!

    Another Pete Thompson effort.

Welcome Neil. Agree with Vadim. FI works really well and adds to the day to day enjoyment of the car.
  7. Video cam footage, so not the best quality. I would normally say "anyone on here" but, Maybe? It was very quiet as it passed by!!

    Correct Spikyone!

    Saw my first Supra today

I tried comparing it with the Mercedes in front. Not as wide I don't think. It was gone past in a flash.

SUNSET MEET at Beachy Head -soon!

The idea is to pick a suitable weekday evening to meet up at the Beachy Head pub, and from there to enjoy the stunning views and twisty local road, and perhaps a bite to eat or refreshing drink at the Pub.To achieve this, and to make the trip worthwhile, we need the assistance of the weather. Beachy Head is very exposed and a windy inclement evening will render a gathering, particularly for photos, rather pointless. We will not stay at the pub for these, but attempt to find space in one of the various viewpoint car parks in the area. We need fairly clear sky and a gorgeous sunset to get the best photos. A recent sunset session. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. Report this image Some of the views (taken early afternoon), but you get the idea. Report this image This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. Report this image If you are interested in such an event, please note that it will be at short notice, as a reliable break in the weather will only allow for a few days notice to arrange this. I will therefore need your contact details via PM so I can message you individually when a likely evening presents itself. The reason for picking a weekday evening is because the area can get really busy, even on weekdays, so finding that photo opportunity may require some luck. If all goes to pot, then a meet in the pub will be the fall back position. We are dealing with mother nature here, and she doesn't always co-operate. We will do our best to predict the best window of opportunity.

SUNSET MEET at Beachy Head -soon!

Meet is on for photography. I shall be at the pub from about 7.30pm, and when all assembled we will go find a suitable car park for the sunset. Hoping the weather holds!

SUNSET MEET at Beachy Head -soon!

Monday 3rd of June looks likely based on the BBC and Metcheck, who are both showing a sunny evening in prospect. If I have your mobile I will update you on Monday.
  17. This GT - pictured at Beaulieu Simply Japanese in 2015. It had a Cosworth S/C conversion carried out by Fensport. The reg Number is no longer on the car, so I guess it was sold on. I never saw it at another show, or featured on the forum. I believe it influenced me with the mods I have done on ours.

SUNSET MEET at Beachy Head -soon!

At the moment, and I stress " at the moment", the week beginning 3rd June is looking good for a meet.If you want to get the lie of the land, the pub central to the meet is a Vintage Inn, BN20 7YA.If you can't make that week, I may well plan another meet, if all goes well. Having been up there quite a lot recently, I have noted it becoming a popular area for "yoofs" in the evenings, who are enjoying comparing sound systems and making doughnuts, it seems. There is already an ongoing "official" presence in the area provided by the Chaplaincy service, and this may well extend to increased police patrols if the younger vehicle enthusiasts cannot reign in their exuberance. We will need to be on our best behaviour.

    How many on one street?

Another bit of nostalgia from my photo archive I am putting together after six years of ownership. I would live on this street!
  22. Problem with Beachy Head, Luke, is you need the right weather on the day, or it can be horrible up there. So any meet would need to be a very short notice affair - say 2-3 days, unless high pressure dominating. I have your number, and will discuss with Diane tomorrow when I see her.
  23. Had them for several years, Nik. It was the rear light covers I was looking for.😊
