One thing i've just spotted on a spec sheet is that the 1400Nm rating is for the 8 support bearings which makes it a 5-speed but the 6 support bearings with 6-speed is 1000Nm. Is that true on this current spec Adrian or is this document of mine for an older layout? Not that anyone is going to run 1000Nm in a 86 lol just curious
Hi Tim, yes 1000Nm ..... should be enough for the rear tyres

And, I'm sure you would need to cut out the framework in the tunnel for the stock box, so there'd be no going back in my opinion.
Nigel, have a look at pic 3, you can see we extend the strengthening plates further back, that's so we can make a pair of mounts to bolt in and take the standard gear box. You never know a race series may rule out a sequential box or we may want to sell the car or something. It's not for sale by the way

Adrian,
that looks an awesome install.
Did they make a bell housing or are you using an Auto Bell housing modified?
Input shaft made to run the stock clutch/flywheel I presume as well?
Thanks Mark
It uses an adaptor plate to fit the standard manual bell housing and clutch mechanism and yes input shaft is standard spline so any clutch / flywheel combo can be used
We're using the extreme 230mm twin which is plenty strong enough!
Cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong Keith, but I don't believe you have a female partner whining at you every single day like most of us do...
Lol this is a *nice* kind of whine

Hi all, here's some install pics from our car
It's a relatively easy install, remove the standard g/box mounting bridge and make own mounts along with a modified prop and linkage.
It is LOUD very LOUD and not a mod for road cars
Here's a video in action

Got mine yesterday, thanks for the fast service. Was little surprised to see the invoice showing I have been charged £276.49 instead of the £260 (delivered) mentioned on page 1 - despite checking on the phone that the deal is still valid. Quality looks pretty good, just got to wait for my car to arrive to get them installed now!
James, sorry about that, human error! Please remind us on your next order and we will credit you the difference.

Glad its going well Keith .... enjoy but be careful!!
Remember 4th gear is the direct 1 to 1 drive now for dyno on Monday and make sure the vvt is switched and the air temps are good !
There's way more to come from the engine yet, we're only scratching the surface so we'll see you on Friday, for the Stoptechs, as long as Mr Customs is nice to us
Cheers

No worries on the maps guys, working closely with Cosworth I will just be a "map logger" for the day and and simply send them logs to fine tune
We already have a base map to suit the Avo exhaust
Not long now Mike

Hi Keith,
I was also gutted this morning and couldn't believe it after all the work last week and the fact that you had had such a good run over the weekend.
I can report the gearbox is out, both are on a pallet and off to Andy tomorrow.
We now have the manuals ... big thanks to a mutual friend
I have 3 days (before Blyton) when I get back from oz so they are already booked to map your car as long as Andy can get us a box built in time!
You have been promoted to "Team Manager" for Sunday .... so you can kick our butts!! (although I know you would of rather done that on track!!)
Cheers

As a result of this thread and many other enquiries over the last few days, we are about to place an air freight order with Blitz Japan for the 55703 Suction Kits.
I fully expect them to be with us in around a fortnight's time.
http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/ProductItem-4254.aspx
I'm not sure if the Advance Power induction owners have seen this video showing an independent test of the kit:

Hi Geoff,
Just been speaking to Tim about this and we have tried to call you back but no answer ..... basically you must have a spigot ring stuck on your hub flange as Jamie has said, all GT86 are 56.1 so if the Eibach spacer is measuring that then it will fit ... we close at 1 today but advise you double check before sending them back
Cheers

Will the price still be the same? I was probably going to look at getting the smoked rears so would need these at some point to go with them. I haven't got my car yet so I'd rather not, but if there aren't 10 others I could probably commit early to ensure I can get hold of some easily.
Speaking of the smoked rears, are these still okay or might there be a similar situation? They were probably going to be the first things I buy for the car.
Yes these will still be the same price. The rear tail lights are not so bad with a reasonable minimum order quantity for us, these are also currently in stock.
Ztox reacted to this -
Just an enquiry to see when Fensport will be getting any more smoked reverse lights in. Captain G
We have just enquired about some more of the smoked reverse lights and have been hit with a minimum order quantity of 20!
We are willing to stock 10 on the shelf but would need 10 pending orders to enable us to order the 20 in.
If we can get 10 people interested in them then we will proceed to ordering. Other than that, I'm afraid we cannot justify purchasing 20 of these for stock!

Nice and accurate write up Lauren
I have one too, completed 4,000 miles and its used as a general workhorse / family car, tows the trailer very well too
Mind you my one has black leather, I couldn't stomach the beige!
1 massive improvement we have made is an addition of a tuning box which takes power to 190bhp and torque to just over 300 lb ft. I must say it really brings the Rav4 alive and it actually needs it's 4wd system on the exit of greasy roundabouts which adds to the fun
I must time it 0-60 and see ....
Cheers

Hi
Am looking at going Forced Induction in the future. Could you please let me know the general waiting time to have a stage 2 AVO turbo fitted by yourselves and also whilst waiting for funds to be available if it is worth fitting items such as the exhaust and air box in the mean time and what this would possibly do to the power output.
Many Thanks
Bles
Hi Bles,
At the moment we are on a 3 week backlog for turbo fitting, stage 2 takes 3 - 4 days.
Yes you can fit the exhaust now if your thinking of 2.5" system?
The airbox can also be fitted at any time with a stock ecu, it will run a little leaner than stock, 11.8 instead of 10.8 which will net 5-8 bhp too
Cheers

Hi Guys just tidied up this thread, any Avo questions please fire away
New stock is due in a week or so and we'll get some pics up of the new kits available
Cheers

Adrian, quick question.
What's the highest bhp you can go to on a stage 4 without upgrading the internals? Assuming that exhaust / intake kit etc upgraded.
Would upgrading the internals at those horsepower levels be beneficial anyway for the sake of longevity?
Thanks.
Hi Stan,
an easy question ..... to ask lol
We haven't tested the stage 4 yet and the first 2 cars have forged engines but I reckon it would see over 420bhp on a stock engine on road fuel. Race fuel you could get over 500 easily and maybe much more ......... as to how long it would last ?
The weakest link is the rod so you have to be careful of cylinder pressures!
so yes upgrading the internals is a must for longevity
Best Regards
Adrian

Thanks for the feedback Adrian, glad you said get "the" body finished.. "My" body is well past it!!
You say the Turbo is coming from Oz, is it following the yellow brick road, will it bring the Wizard with it? Seriously though.. I thought the kits were built in Thailand?
Just one more question.. I thought you said on the phone the airbox came with the kit, whereas your site states it's an optional extra??
lol ..... some say ..... my body too!!
yes Thailand is the manufacturing plant
Airbox is separate, we kept it this way so people can decide on their own modification route
Your No 1 for stage 4 Nige :)

Any news on the quieter 3" version of the AVO exhaust ?
Hi Ian,
We have a resonated version on the next shipment due mid Feb
Cheers

Come on Adrian. Where's my stage 4 kit!!! I think I've waited long enough now !!
Never mind using any excuses about my car being totally stripped down and me not needing it yet either lol.
Just like Keith, I wanna be the first in the UK to have this little kit.
Hey Nigel, pull your finger out and get the body sorted
Turbo will be leaving oz end of next week
Best Regards
Adrian

Fensport. Do the prices quoted jan 13 still apply for members, looking at the smoked rears as I see you have them back in stock.
The club price still stands at £250 inc VAT and delivery for all lights except the smoked ones. These are £280 inc. VAT and delivery.

Awesome stuff Dan, seen these on ebay before and was close to getting a set after my crash but I wasn't sure if they were HID or normal halogen? Any ideas? Alternatively, could you retro fit the stock HID bits to these headlamp casings
These are HID ready. You remove the HID bulb, ballast and leveling motor from your standard light and fit them straight on to these ones. They come with instructions on how to do this
How do they fit in terms of wiring? Stock doesn't have indicator, thats lower down as part of the fog unit? Have to say I like the styling very much.
As soon as you plug the lights in using the main plug, all lights including the indicators will work. This is because the BRZ has indicators built in to the headlight casing as standard and obviously it's all the same wiring!
Keethos reacted to this -
Hi Guys,
We noticed that there doesn't seem to be much available in regards to an alternative solution to the standard GT86 headlights. Styling wise, every other panel and fixing seems to be available here in the UK except for the headlights! After a bit of research we have sourced, tried and tested these lights from TopSage. TopSage have been a supplier of ours for a while and as you probably already know, we stock a lot of their interior and exterior carbon parts already. These lights are E-marked, come with built in LED indicators and daylight running lights. The 4 available styles are;Chrome---Chrome w/o LED ring---Black---Black Chrome---For more photos visit the links aboveClub PricesChrome without LED ring - £452.52 inc. VATAll other styles with LED ring - £463.32 inc. VAT+ Delivery. With a set of these costing a lot less than the standard lights from Toyota and looking a lot more slick, it's a no brainer!Cheers!Dansales@fensport.co.ukGT86-Ian reacted to this -
