  1. @Feemono & anyone else interested, At the recent Donington trackday I noticed two cars didn't have the little intake resonator despite having an otherwise stock intake. However what both cars did have was the Tuning Developments exhaust manifold, I therefore suspect that TD remove this as part of there upgrade package, most likely so it doesn't get mellted by the hot exhaust.

    Carbon fibre gear surround trim

Unfortunately due to the shape and the fact the surround is clipped into place, your going to struggle to find a pure carbon piece. This is the closest all in one carbon style piece that I'm aware of: https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/?id=42130 As a much cheaper alternative have you considered having the part hydro dipped?

    Brake callipers upgrade

The majority of companies offer both a front & rear kit. However you don't need to do the rears, just doing the fronts will be sufficient. Rear calipers are mostly just for looks. It depends on which Brembo front calipers you are referring to.
  4. From what I've read, I think your going to have the same issues with the new GR86 that you've got with the current GT. The Subaru boxer engine isn't really a revvy engine and it's not been designed that way. Yes the new FA24 has more power and torque which is why its faster, but it still won't be a light engine that likes to rev freely. You can ofcourse try and make either engine much lighter but we'd be talking (tens?) thousands of pounds with an engine rebuild featuring a stroker kit, lighter rods, pistons and upgraded cams. What's your ultimate goal for the car? Just to be a fast daily or a track car. If your happy with the current car, I'd atleast go down the lightweight flywheel and driveshaft route to begin with.

Post your GT86 / BRZ pic of day!

All the pictures of the crash bar I've seen have it. It must be something Subaru do at the factory.

    Engine Blown, What next?

A full rebuild is around the £4K mark, if you only need the top half of an engine it might be cheaper. Here's a couple of places / people that might be able to help you source an engine. They can be found from £2000 to £4000. @Samwise has one for sale - see attached image. Event Title: Midlands Lunch Meet - Sat 11th December (Hoof Beats) Event Author: will300 Event Date: 11.12.2021 Hello Everyone As we are approaching that festive time of year, we shall be hosting our December / Xmas Midlands lunch meet at the start of December. We shall be meeting at the Hoof Beats restaurant just of the A5 near Burntwood / Brownhills on Saturday 11th December at 11:30. Please can you confirm your attendance asap, so we can book a table for enough people. The car park is a good size, however we expect it to get rather busy. Because of this and the fact I we'd all like to park closer together, we should park around the back of the restaurant where there is a large parking area. Please can we all aim to get there for 11:30, no earlier please. This will give us time for everyone to arrive before we sit down for lunch at 12. Here's the menu: https://www.hoofbeatsbnk.co.uk/main-menu/ Thanks for looking. In comes the GR86

For colours look here: https://www.toyota.com/gr86/ My name will be going down for one, possibly two, one for me & one for my brother. Although I'm not sure if its worth it for both of us to get one. I might have to get a Supra instead 🤔

    Bonnet vents

Yes they provide a benefit, most noticeably with oil temps. However I wasn't concerned with this, I had them installed to reduce the engine bay temps around the coilpack area. What I should have done was have my exhaust manifold thermally shielded (google thermo met). I probably wouldn't bother if I was to do it again.

    Brake disc and pads

This will probably be your best bet, without going for crazy pads or a BBK: https://www.torqen.uk/toyota/toyota-gt86/brakes/pack-deals/20228-toyota-gt86-stoptech-discs-sport-performance-pads-kit-slotted.html As for a caliper refurb, I'd go to either: https://www.biggred.co.uk/ or https://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

    MartinT's BRZ

You wont get any increase in NVH with the STi or TRD engine mounts, as these are similar to the OEM design, just using a firmer rubber. I'd avoid the Perrin and Cusco ones as they are predominately made from metal and are known to increase the NVH.

    Sell With or Without Mods

Quick math, says there is about £5K to £6K worth of mods there and the car stock is atleast worth £10K. So around £16K in total, ofcourse that on the assumption that you've kept all the stock parts and that you'd be removing and refitting everything. There are a couple of boosted cars for sale at the moment for around £13.5K, one of which is HKS supercharged and a couple of TD turbo cars.

    What oil temp is bad

You ideally don't want it going above 125°c, without an oil cooler. It'd take some going to get it that hot on the street mind. Just make sure you run a decent oil and you should be fine. For referrence I'll happy run laps on the track with my oil at 125°c so long as it's stable at that temperature. However I'm also running Millers Nanodrive CFS oil, which is rated for 125°c with temperature spikes upto 150°c.

    Fuel when lower compression

You could always run a fuel additive such as VP Racing Octanium and have two maps one for with it and one without. https://vpracingfuels.com/product/octanium-unleaded/?c=207&
