    Any idea what this is...?!

Should be a code in a metal tag on the key ring, can be used to reset alarm and a few other set up options (never used mine though, so prob safe not to worry about it).
  2. Willfmair thanks for sharing this event, although didn't catch you in person today I (and my children) really enjoyed the whole event today and wouldn't have heard about it otherwise.
  3. I will be along about 11.00am please leave some space in the gt86 area if possible, see you all there.

    Gt86 owner, Potentially...

Might have been Alan was 18mths ago. If it's all good get it bought. Don't always need money off (where sells do this they have just over priced it in first place if happy to do this, must have been priced ok compared to other TRD examples to get you there. £750 is prob more than the sales guys commission anyway. Plus sounds like if it needed tyres and brakes you would have offered £750 less (ie the cost of these), so why not pay full price if it's perfect.

    Gt86 owner, Potentially...

My gt86 is from jemca Bracknell, no issues and the sales guy I dealt with at least was fairly knowledgeable about the gt86, they apparently make a point of buying up used examples to sell on compared to some other Toyota dealers who know very little about them. All TRD cars will be a good premium used over a regular example as they cost alot more new.

    Here she is!

I agree would watch out for budget tyres being fitted (Toyota dealer fitted 2 nankangs to the back of mine).
  7. I also find all the specialist insurance companies are way more exspencive for me too (all over £450, but using comparison site is under £250, even with modifications). Shame as would like to use specialists like green light as good rep and option for cheap track cover, I think they calculate risk on a very different model to main stream companies which works for some but not others.

    Soon to be a GT86 Owner o/

Welcome along, also local to Milton Keynes area. I'm sure there will be another Milton Keynes meet soon. (If not pistonheads meet at silverstone in October would be a nice first meet for your gt86).
  9. Yes I plan to do the Silverstone one and get a track session, (the sessions are pistonheads only not the general public, would say standards are no better or worse than any other track day), hopefully Morris will offer the cheap insurance.

    Rimstock wheels - any views?

Rim stock/team dynamics make perfectly ok wheels (not as fancy as some JDM brands and not forged) but fairly light weight and fairly strong designs the pro race 1.2 for example is used in lots of Motorsport for this reason. I would have no issues using them on a gt86

    1st track day

Would agree with above now, Morris are offering track cover again it's more like £60ish for a day (12k value, UK track), Personally I insure my car. Worth noting if car is on PCP you don't legally have a choice, have to be covered. Although chances of an accident on track are in theory small, members of this forum have proved they do happen.

    1st track day

Bedford is a good first track day as lots of run off, while learning etc MSV days there also good as they sell a few less places than the others that use the track (lotus on track also good via the club members section on here also worth a look). Stock car will be fine other than check you have good amount of brake pads left and the brake fluid isn't too old (not done on every service), as you can over heat brakes fairly easily, everything else should be fine to start with.

    Dashcam cable hiding

Front is very easy no need to remove anything, just slide the wire under the plastic surrounds round screen by pushing them under (I used a pen). Works on most cars then can run to edge with glove box and remove the side bit you see when door open and run wire through to plug.

    GT86 Black low miles SOLD

I agree with above, car looks great and nice mods but no one will pay more than a hpi clear car for a cat D. Why not sell mods (wheels and coilover suspension would be worth most the difference). Then sell car for around £10k you don't say why cat D this could also help sale, if not major damage.

    Toyota gt86 digital speedometer

Try ordering the cluster from a UK spec primo model as this was the same as the lower spec models over seas (other than mph printed on clocks rather than km) will not get you a digital speedometer but should leave you with everything working as should be. (Very few primo models sold so very little chance of finding a used one).
  17. Thanks for sharing, clashes with JAE for some though. Looking forward to the Silverstone Sunday service later in year.

Track day on a patched tyre?

Agree nothing to worry about, if it was safe to repair (not on edge) then consider it fixed, and safe to use track or road.
  19. I think it's always an issue if the finance company find out, don't forget till it's paid off its their car not yours. (Assuming PCP or HP). I would guess reversible mods like wheels etc if you keep stock parts would be less likely to lead to problems but I exspect if they wanted they could still end the agreement as it's no doubt in small print. Best option in terms of modding is a personal loan as not linked to car.

Team dynamics pro race 2 and tyres

Now on eBay too, but happy to end early for offer on here still.
  22. Forsale are a set of wheels i was using mainly as track wheels. They are team dynamics pro race 2. They are 7" wide, et45 17" they are dual drilled 5x100 (gt86) and also 5x114. Included are the correct spigot rings for the gt86 too. Tyres are kumho ku39, 215 45 17s all 6mths old having covered about 2000 miles (including 2 track days) and all have 5mm tread left. The wheels are very light (under 7kg) and strong, used in lots of race serries and the tyres while not track specific work very well on circuit and withstand the heat well (the ku36 used to be used in several race serries for this reason). Wheels are in fair cosmetic condition with no damage, all balanced up ready to use. Collection from just outside Milton Keynes £250ono

    Steven Eagle Milton Keynes

Have also found Milton Keynes Toyota to be fine (don't always get a good press in general) but did my MOT/ service and recall fine too. The free car wash wasn't as good as Ronnie's but it was free.
