Claybar only removes contamination stuck to the paint, it will not remove scratches. Will need a DA or hand polish to remove.

I've removed light marks myself numerous times with a clay bar so they can, it totally depends on what the mark was caused by. Either way it's always best to clay it first to decontaminate. As he can't feel it at all, there's hope its very minimal. But he's said it's not caused by twigs so i'd wager he does need a polisher on this one :)

  2. Personally I don't see the point, I ended up having my five axis kit riveted to the car and smoothed in but that's as war as I was going to go. It's still reversible, hacking away at a car isn't really. Re-sale will also be drastically affected.

Yes, it's the lack of vision through it that's the MOT fail, not that the wipers touch it. ;)

If it enroaches on the wiper sweeping area by more than 40mm then it's a fail, it's not really due to lack of vision surely given that you can get smaller wipers and be fine but actually have more restricted vision in shitty weather but it would be a pass then. I understand the rule is there so that it doesn't affect vision so you are right, but changing the wipers will untimately allow it to pass MOT. The fail is due to the wipers touching it, not due to lack of vision :P

  4. Please note that the best way to create a social event in this forum is to add it via the calendar as it will then be added in to the calendar and also a discussion topic placed here provided you have selected the right calendar.

Calendar can be found here: http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/calendar/

    Rules

    • Forum can be used for discussing the arrangement of social events but once agreed upon social events must be added either by the calendar or a new topic created which clearly states the date & time of the social meet.
    • Once new topic's are created, please request an admin/moderator to remove the initial discussion topic by providing them a link via PM.
    • Old discussion topics will be removed after 1 month of inactivity
    • Events must have an attendance list on the first post within the discussion board and it is the responsibility of the event creator to keep it updated.

If any clarification on the above rules or assistance is required them PM an Admin/Moderator directly.

  6. Hi All,

We are changing the way Projects & Build threads are handled on the forum and as such all project and build threads have been locked and it will no longer be possible to post and new build threads there.

Instead we are introducing blogs, those of you who have been with the club from the get go will recall having the feature previously and it has been requested by a few and we feel it will benefit all going forward to have this.

It will essentially work the same although each update post from yourself will be able to be commented on individually, hopefully making dicsussion a bit more topical rather than things going off on a tangent and even if they do, it won't distract from the build itself.

You should all now be able to see "Blogs" under the navigation and be able to create a blog.

There are some restrictions, normal members are restricted to one blog, premium members are able to create multiple blogs and can moderate posts and their blogs themselves.

So what is happening to the old build threads? They will be staying but if you want to migrate things over you are welcome to do this manually, unfortunately there isn't any automatic process for doing so. If you want to start a blog and have a project thread already, it may be beneficial linking to it in your first blog post.

    Many Thanks,

    Rob

  7. Welcome to the club :) no sides, we will do events together, as lauren said though. Most the big shows are attended largely by us and we do love a good track day. Well everyone else does, I haven't done one for a while due to lack of time.

  8. Hi All, for those of you with outstanding club orders I apologise for the delay. I've been moving out over christmas and new year in to my first home so i'm a bit behind with life in general let alone the club.

Hoping to get them all sorted today for you :)

    Thanks,

    Rob
