You want to avoid claying the car as it will scratch it. Good sealants, to stop stuff sticking to the paint, and a splash of chemicals as above mentioned should stay on top of it.

Seen these, they are no looker though to be honest. I am almost tempted by bonnet risers. You know the ones you see on saxos that lift the hinges up a little so the back of the bonnet it kicks up allowing air up over the windscreen.

Mine stays at a solid 90 on a track day according to the scan gauge. I had considered a vented bonnet too. Just havent seen one I like yet.

This makes sense now, I thought you have fitted this as well as the oil cooler just to help temps maintain high and quicker on short road trip. Sorry I didnt read it fully. This explains why you probably have higher oil temps at the very top end, compared to me, but by heck is that laminova doing a cracking job!!!! What a good solution. Is this with a stock rad, and coolant stat?

Id need to double check, I believe mine is the one near the AC? I really am not sure. I guess with the sprintex there would be no room for the top oil gallery either? I have an oil cooler, I assume you do too. As much as I love my car, and I love that I didnt have to spend big money doing all the modifications. I do miss be able to say with certainty what has been done off the top of my head.

Very surprised you are seeing such high oil pressures. Mine are round the 70 PSI, 5 BAR mark at around 100C. I am using motul 300V 5-30W. I believe the reading is being taken from the oil gallery.

Just found this out too after a quick goggle. Didn't even occur to me you could add custom address. I know what I will be doing this weekend to see how they compare. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28374 Does the car have a OE oil pressure sensor, or is a switch?

Oh okay that makes sense didnt realise they had a OEM oil temp sensor, I have a Spa oil and pressure gauge in the car. I know my oil temp is taken from the sump so it will be less. It all makes sense now. Shame the OEM oil temp is not shown on the dash, or can be accessed via my scan gauge. Can you tell me where in the engine its positioned out of interest. What engine oil are you running?

I understand that. But does the cosworth charger use oil from the sump. I have a sprintex, and it contains its own oil. I assume the cosworth does too. Where are you taking the Oil temp data from?

Anyone with a Cossie S/C south of London?

Big price drop on that is was up for 30K. These are really good guys they are down the road from me, know them as an alfa specialist as a few of the guys at work have had them.

Oil temperatures are hot, do cosworth charges use oil from the sump?

I am the other sprintex car you are all referring too. Hiii. I would be very interest to know robs complete setup compared to mine, I also assume you IAT temp sensor is the same set-up as mine. My car has Stock air box, and panel filter, sprintex with 75mm pulley, OEM manifold. Decat, and the S&H system. Bare in mind I do drive at 100% on a track day. Im not known for lift and coast. I did Donnington GP. Many hard pulls and big stops on this track. 3-4 flying laps per session, 1 warm up and 1 cool down lap. On track the ambient temperatures were 10-12C all day, coolant temp was always maintaining 90C, and oil temps were ranging from 90-102C 0w30 motul 300V. It was on V power 99 ron all day, Map 2. Intakes temperature by the first flying lap were around 68-73C this would rise to around 78 degrees after a few laps. I was trying to keep to 5 lap stints. At one point they got to 83C. I was reving it out to 7k all day. Last Thursday I did Snetterton 300. 3-4 flying laps per session, 1 warm up and 1 cool down lap. ON track ambient temps were around the 8C mark. All fluid temps were fine. I was in map 1, soft throttle as it was a damp day. IATS were hovering around the high 50's, and peaked at 64C. I will be honest down the straights I was short shifting at 6.5rpm and not reving it out all the way. A few laps I did rev it out and still stayed below 70. I believe the temperature we lower on this day because the track means you have higher average speed and therefore, more air flowing through the cooling, and that it was wet aiding cooling with the water vapour in the air. Also there as probably less load on the engine, as due to wet conditions i was full on the throttle, and then full on the brakes.

    Info Wanted - Nurburgring 2017

Track experience before hand is a good idea, it will make it less daunting because you will be familiar with it.

    Info Wanted - Nurburgring 2017

Been going to the ring for years now every year. Love the place. We take the euro tunnel, its just faster than the ferry although not as cheap. The drive over is easy, get on a motorway follow it for many hundreds of miles. Places to stay, Hotels: I have always used the Burgstube. It's run by an English guy called Martin. Great local knowledge and he will look after you well. About 90 euro a night. A villa can be a cheaper option if you plan to go as a larger group for longer. You can drive your own car round in tourist session (TF) (about 27 euro a lap) and I always do however please bare the following information in mind: You are not insured in any form! You road policy will specifically exclude the nordschleife. As a result if you crash into another car you are personally liable. If you drop fluid and people crash, again you are liable. If you hit the barrier you will be charged for it replacement. If you break down and need to be towed off you will be charged. I am not trying to put you off but make you aware. If you want to hire rent4ring is probably the best and most cost effective package around. If you have any further questions drop me a message!

    Lap timers

If you forget that your not allowed to time on track days..... I use harry's lap timer one of the best out there, it can record video, doubt youll get away with this! or you can get it to work with your go pro, it can hook up to your OBD port for taking telemetry data. I dont use any of those features. I use it for logging. Run harry's lap timer chuck it in the door pocket and allow it to do it thing, then you can review the data at any time....
