    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Planning to leave Norwich at 7, so I'll be there around 7:30. See you then.

    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Current forecast is dry morning, rain mid-afternoon. But there's also rain forecast overnight tonight, so the track will probably be damp first thing.

    Warrington - 14/05/2016

I'm game for a meet. CAU works for me as I work in Wilmslow anyway. Or wherever really.

Looks like it will be suspension this weekend for me, Amber performance have Flex As in stock, so I'm sorted.

I'm not going mega low, 20 mm drop probably, so I'll stick with the stock drop links for now.
  6. Are we doing a convoy to the hotel on Saturday afternoon? I seem to recall it was discussed in the main thread.

A question for those on coilovers, particularly Teins. Did you fit shorter drop links? Are they necessary or can I just run the stock ones?

Hopefully I'll have Tein Flex As by the time the wheels arrive, need to work out when I have a free weekend to get it fitted though.

That's a great video, I'm not too fussed about other cars on track, but consistency is not something that comes easily either, definitely something to think about. Incidentally, current forecast is a dry morning and a 40% chance of rain in the afternoon. Could make for interesting conditions.

17x8, +42 offset. Should poke about 19 mm more than stock wheels, while being about 7 mm closer to the suspension struts. Hopefully they'll fill the arches nicely, and I don't think I'll have any problems with them fouling the suspension or arches.

    JapFest Northwest Hotel Convoy

It's 69 miles, so it'll be a bit tight to get there by 2pm at AE86 speeds.

Bought a big plastic box I can chuck my jack, stands and tools in last night. Should make things a bit easier. Weighs a ton though!

Small update today. Yokohama Advan V105s fitted and car serviced by RRG Macclesfield. Also, tons of life left in my brake pads it turns out, only 30% worn at the front and 20% at the rear. I also placed a deposit on some WedsSport TC105N wheels, so they'll be going on the car come June.

Fine by me, I'm coming from the Middlewich side anyway.

Can do, there's the Fox and Hounds car park on the Middlewich side or the Texaco on the Homes Chapel side.

I'm fine with whenever, so could meet at Sandbach (or Middlewich) at say 1 pm?

First post has a list of names. As for colours, mine's orange, Ade's is red I think, Paul's is white, Dan's is subaru blue, and Nigel's is grey.

I'll throw the socket set and some axle stands in then!

I'm game for passengers too. Dan, did I see that you you have your new brakes sorted? Does that mean you have some streetmasters going begging? Not sure on a garage spot, I'm not anticipating needing to do much to my car!
  21. One downside, my front bumper has picked up a lot more stone chips.
  22. They're not allowed to remove undertrays and you can't see the first cat without removing the undertrays. So they can't fail for the lack of the first cat because they can't prove you don't have one. Second cat is visible from under the car so a bit easier to spot if it's been removed. If you have a roughly cat-shaped resonator most testers would just pass it though (assuming it meets emissions).
  23. Roads were really quiet, and almost all the drivers we did meet were really courteous and let us past on single track roads. I thought the run down from Durness to Gairloch was the highlight of the trip both for scenery and roads, though the mountain pass back from Applecross was pretty special too.

To decat or not to decat

I reckon it's about 95 dB using an ebay special meter. The acid test will be at Snetterton.
