Sensible replacements! Both great cars.I really like the C-HR, both my younger brothers (25 and 23) who aren't car people always pick up on the C-HR when they see one. Definitely looks good, i might see if i can persaude the girlfriend to get one...
I'll miss the GT86. It's a brilliant car when you're on it but it's not so good at the daily trudge, especially when you have to park in tight spaces & try to squeeze in & out.
I could have lived with that though but it's not my car.
I reckon the quality, usability & gadgets it in C-HR will make up for the lack of performance but I also see her nicking my forthcoming 595 at every given opportunity to get a performance fix.

Well, my wife is getting on. The shock is, to replace her 86!!
She's gone for the New Limited Edition (100 made) Hybrid.
Her needs have changed as she regularly has the elderly or kids in tow. She's been using my Panda more & more but didn't want to swap cars.
That said, the 86 doesn't really work in my tight spaced work car park.
Hence, C-HR for her & even better, Abarth 500 Competizione with the 180 bhp performance pack in place of the Panda:D

My wife is parting with her GT86 on Tuesday.
She's getting a new C-HR limited edition hybrid!! Her motoring needs have changed a lot over the last year with the 86 not being elderly or kid friendly being a particular problem.
She's been using my Panda Cross more & more so wanted her own mini SUV. The Panda didn't appeal to her & the 86 isn't compatible with my work car park.
I'm not too disappointed. My Panda will be making way for an Abarth 595 180 bhp Competizione with the performance pack.
Car will be at FRF in Swansea. A really minter with every extra fitted.

Any feedback after the map?

Buy a liberte TAG for the tolls. Available from Eurotunnel as PAYG with a deposit.
Being low, tolls are nigh on impossible for the passenger.
Worst drivers are by far the Belgians.
We went through the Tunnel last year. No issues with a standard car!
Enjoy

Ta, booked in to FRF Swansea on Friday

On ours, it's not locking consistently either so I guess it's been FUBAR since the leather was fitted at Portbury.
-
Morning,
Anyone had any issues with the push buttons that you press to drop the rear seat back?
One of ours got stuck pressed in when returning the back to upright & trying to get it to lock.
The surrounding bit of plastic (with the red bit on) flew off at the same time.
The button seems to have dropped very low & gone sideways. Can't even force it across & up with a needlenose pliers.
Dealer job then?
Ta, Simon

I'm glad I only listen to radio 2 in the car...lol

The JBL system in the wife's car has the sub in the spare wheel well.
TBH, the interior of the 86 is too flimsy to get the benefit as anything with bass feels like it'll shake the car apart. Not good.

Both methods to access the hidden menus work but I cannot see a way to change the reverse option nor reinstate the DAB option that was previously there.
Any ideas please? Pretty please?
-
Morning all,
Looking at the reversing camera thread, I see that a sequence of presses on the screen when in navigation volume mode accesses hidden menus where you can activate & deactivate certain features.
I've also read that pressing & holding setup on the HU whilst switching the lights on / off three times gives you other options.
Anyone know for sure?
Fitting properly integrated DAB is my aim, not the FM sender version. Why my dealer updated the maps & HU software last March, the DAB option disapeared so I'm keen to get that back. If @Fensport sell the reversing camera kits again or I can get one off someone else, I'd like to fit that too.
Cheers,
Simon

Super helpful. Thanks.
As I understood it, these kits are no longer available??

My Panda is on proper Alpine rated M & S four seasons Good Year Vector tyres.
Pretty much unphased by anything other than really slippery rocks.
Lockable 4WD, hill descent control, electronic diff locks, underbody protection & so on.
Winter pack gives you volcanic bum warmers, a proper heated screen & washer jets.
We had a Mk1 Panda 4x4 too. A pre - FIRE version.
Great car but chalk & cheese as the Cross is built extremely well & even standard kit is generous.
It's a tough, loveable honest little car that does everything really quite well

I initially thought I wanted one as a daily, to replace my excellent Fiat Panda Cross.
However, the engine & transmission choices are seriously flawed IMO & the price point is about £3k too high.
Why no manual 1.2 4WD with decent tyres?!?!
More of a fashion statement than a vehicle with any real purpose.

Had a good look at one at FRF Swansea yesterday.
Hugely impressed, completely reinforcing my "affordable car of the show" at Geneva this year.
Stunning to look at, inside & out. Very sporty stance, ditto driving position.
Very decent boot & reasonable space in the rear when set for my driving position.
Not cheap though & engine choices a bit strange / limited but overall, loved it.

Saw this yesterday.
Our car has the leather covered binnacle so only the steering wheel controls, one piece dash / stereo insert suppound & possibly the spoiler appealed.
Didn't like the wheels, body differences were meh, TFT screen useful but looked out of place being square in a round.
DAB is standard & the head unit looked simplified.
The CHR was stunning though.
Seen at Geneva yesterday. Toyota C-HR
