I find wiping down the car with IPA before you apply your wax/sealant makes a huge difference to how it goes on and its durability.

There must be thousands of people out there using alloy nuts with no issues but personally I only fit steel nuts. Wheel nut torque is 88lb/ft (120Nm).

A Stage 1 organic job will do nicely. Don't go for a paddle clutch they are awful to drive on the road.

Tein recommend rebuilding their dampers every 3 years or 36k miles, less if they have been used on track. There isn't some magic used that means they go miles longer between overhaul. Whatever you go for ohlins, Teins, KW Moton etc they will all recommend having an overhaul at some stage.

On a bit of an unrelated note. If you don't mind saying Will how much did you pay for your rear brembos? The going rate for these seems to be around £500 which seems insane.

The Blitz is an imitation of the BBS CH another timeless classic. Either way it doesn't matter. Rota is very much a marmite club, you have those that love the fact they can have great looking wheels for affordable prices. Others see it as a firm who is capitalising and undermining the hard work and reputation of other companies.

My 200sx used to suffer badly from heat soak during the summer. It is important as Nerdstrike says. Both the TD and Avo kit have their strengths and weaknesses it's down the personal preference but in short they are the most popular kits for UK cars.

The GT86 steering wheel is small, so seems a pain to fit one that goes through it. This goes round it, the only way I can describe it is like a babybel.

A Supra for 30k? Not a chance. The Supra is in a different market segment not to mention it's strictly a 2 seater. Toyota also mentioned that the Supra is compliment a sports car line up, not replace it.

2015 models had the dampers replaced for Sachs, a shark fin aerial and a more convincing looking carbon effect dash panel. Plenty sure there were some minor other bits that had been changed too. Mine is a 2015 and hasn't been affected by any recall either.

Congrats on her moving in, sorry to hear your RS4 has to go! I can only agree with what everybody has already said so far, the car is forgiving and easy to drive, the traction control and stability control is aggressive and very good at keeping the car in check if left on. The visibility is pretty good for a sports car, its comfy, the lights are powerful and the clutch and throttle are light so this should help with her confidence. The low down seating position and not being able to see the back of the car might be a negative for her though. As others have said I would definitely replace the tyres if you the car you buy is fitted with factory fitted Michelin Primacys, they turn to wood this time of year.

I can't see the GT86 going anywhere. First of all Toyota has already spoken about another joint venture for a new GT86 for 2021(ish), bearing in mind the Supra has been on the cards from at least 2014 so its not a sudden spanner in the works There seems to be a general belief that Toyota still want a 3 sports car line up, (Akio Toyoda still wants it) although given Toyotas track record its hard to figure out what they are doing, The little S-FR just seemed to fade away never to be seen again. I very much doubt you will see any change from £35-£38k for a baby Supra, which puts it in a different market to the GT86, not to mention its strictly a 2 seater. It makes perfect sense to exploit the opportunity to offer different powertrains for the Supra chassis seeing as they already exist. Who knows if the GT86 was a success in Europe or not, we don't work for Toyota so don't know targets, but i think its reasonable to presume that these cars are important for the brand image rather than to be money makers, Toyota are one of the manufacturers of white goods for the car industry, other models are more important for the income. The UK market is quite hostile for sports car, everyone is obsessed with anything hot hatch and German.

It's pretty good, you can head down from about £20+ per night, usually in somebodies spare room. Assuming you got yourself a smartphone its worth having the app on there...

Hi Septic, It's definitely doable, If it was me I'd tuck a deep cycle (aka Leisure) battery into the corner of the boot with some sort of bracketry to hold it in situ and install a split charging setup. I don't know what you power demands will be but I can't imagine you will need a large battery. You will want it configured so that the leisure battery and car battery can be isolated from each other for 2 situations; 1. Engine starting, this absorbs a huge amount of current, Leisure batteries do not have a high enough current rating to start a car engine. 2. Overnight use, to minimise the risk of draining both the leisure battery and car battery. Although if I'm honest, is it really worth the effort? I've slept in a car a few times and its not a pleasurable experience. Its either extremely cold or extremely hot, you build up massive amounts on condensation (will be even worse in the small cabin of an 86) and their is literally no sound insulation or blocking out light. So its earplugs and something over your eyes. Not to mention the fact you are confined to one position in a seat. You can get an Air BnB room for not alot of money. The money you spend rigging up this dual battery setup will cover you for a few nights using Air BnB.

I wonder what its reception is like in Japan? I cant imagine the average Japanese car enthusiast would welcome the Supra badge being used on something so very European.

That's a shocking fit. Far too close, from the photo it looks like it's actually touching, it may even be closer if the manifold expands with heat. Then when the engine rocks it's going to fret the wrap away again. Why is it necessary go so far up and over that it's practically in contact with a radiator hose? It's not like it's needed for performance given all the others which sit much further away. Surely TD cant say thats fine? seeing as its a modular design it's not even like you need a complete new manifold, just the loop section.
