I'll have a look at it in the morning Steve, I'll test it out and see what it's like!
Don't suppose you could make a custom one with A/F ratio, oil temp, intake temp and boost pressure all on 1 screen could you?
haha

Yes the right hand vent next to the drivers steering wheel is fine for holding the phone.
I have a magnetic mount and the phone just sits on top of it.
Picture is here:

Success! It found the Wifi signal at last!
It's just a vent mount to hold the phone Tareim

Awesome Steve!
I have a problem though, my phone or iPad can't seem to find the ELM 327 device when I plug it into the car?!
Any ideas??

So my obd2 reader and vent mount have finally been delivered so that I can use dash command in the car and monitor temps and boost pressure etc!

Think you might be on to something there Foulsmell, but I will check the part no when I am home.

I'll have a little look this evening, but I think you could be right Nige...
Hmmm how about £280 and you can have it sent to you tomorrow?
-
People in my area (Essex) who also own 86/BRZ's don't ever to seem to want to wave back. I've seen probably 5 out on the road in my area, and only 1 white BRZ flashed and waved back!
-
I got it from Japan Parts, but I will have a look on the box this evening. It is definitely a genuine shorter Final Drive just like M Factory's version.
-
No problem Nige, just let me know
-
I was quoted around 3-4 hours as you have to take the diff out to replace it. My local guy said £140-180 depending on how fast he got through it.
But it all depends on how fast your local tuning place thinks they can crack it out in.

It's branded under the Revolution Tuning name in Japan Steve, but I think it actually is a Toyota part??

Right so second post in quick succession.
Now I'm running more power I need to get my brakes sorted as well as some better rubber. So unfortunately that's means my 4.55 FD which was going into the car in N/A form, needs to be sold as I no longer have problems propelling myself!
It is still boxed, brand new and un touched in my room, waiting for a good home. Will dramatically increase acceleration on an N/A car by lowering all 6 gears, lowering your top speed but increasing acceleration.
I am looking for £300 or the nearest sensible offer.
Hit me up with offers guys

Hi guys,
So because the car took the radical step of getting turbocharged recently I have no longer need for the pulley kit I got off James H
Since buying it off James, it has sat in my room in the box doing nothing but gathering dust so I'd like them off my hands.
Will give your N/A cars a nicer revving feel to them with the reduced mass, increasing throttle response.
RRP £250
I'm looking for £140-150 or a nice offer, so give it your best in the comments below

It was a bit of a rush Keith so I didn't properly broadcast it to everyone, they had space and so I took it as it was just after payday as well.
Nick's visit was rather fleet of foot as he had run away from the foreman for a little while!
Yes very happy with their work and Sam was very helpful! He actually showed us the overlay of your car from your previous visit when he realised who we were. Made my turbo curves look like they came off a 1.2 micra haha!

Awesome mate, how does it sound now? Missing the loudness yet?
The sound is certainly different! Dan Ztox followed me down to TDI yesterday and he said it still sounded very loud, but there is no drone on the motorway and off boost it is quite restrained. On boost however it is still very loud so it has created a kind of Jekyll and Hyde personality. Do I miss the UEL rumble? Kind of, but an extra 100 odd horsepower is awesome consolation.

Very happy Nick! Pretty much hit the sweet spot with it without sacrificing reliability. Was great to see you, even if it was a flying visit!

So here are the results after a long day custom mapping at TDI in Thurrock. Sam and Mark there were brilliant and I will be definitely going back
Stock internals, stock fuel pump and injectors, running at 7 psi. Pulled back the ignition timing advance a little bit for long term reliability but very happy with the results.
265hp at the wheels (around 310 at the crank)

From the European launch apparently?! I think I read that any way.
It is definitely quicker than the 7.6 advertised though.
It is a bit like Porsche, they are very conservative on everything from power figures to top speed and 0-60 times.
Plenty of people in the mid to late 2's to 60 with the new 991 Turbo S for example, way below claimed times.

Careful of that.... the Konis have had their issues and I would be wary of just bushing for the sake of. You can over-bush a car that it quickly becomes un-compliant on the road. I haven't felt the need for it on my car running similar power. When my shocks die I will be looking at the Bilstein shock offerings or the uprated Sachs dampers that come on the MY15+.
Diff bushing might be or more worth to you, unless you feel an issue then why change? Mark @ Abbey has a good idea of what to change on a road car
I wanted Bilstein's over anything else, but due to the ease of Fensport selling Koni's and having Dave being able to fit them at the same time there (as I am quite close to them) I thought that would be the right way to go. The Bilstein's were hard to track down for me, or I could have just been looking in the wrong places.
What kind of issues did the Koni's have?
Bushing hasn't been an issue for me so far, but I thought with the lowered springs and new shocks, it would be wise to change them at the same time. I would be intrigued to see what feedback Mark can give us on the matter though.
-
I currently have 25mm Tein springs in mine with the geo all done and can confirm the car does feel tighter and more responsive on the road with less body roll when pushing on. Ride comfort is only slightly worse on the worst bumps. For £150 from Fensport it was a no brainer for me.
I am planning on putting Koni shocks inside them towards the end of the year and finish it off with some improved bushes, now the car is turbocharged and running a bucket load more power.
Like you I couldn't justify or afford £1000 just on suspension at the time, and wanted to do it in stages instead. The springs are a short term solution which have improved the car, which I will now finish off now I can afford it with shocks and bushes later on this year

Another Exhaust thread...sorry :-)

Invidia, GReddy, AVO, Cobra, JDL, Tomei are all very good exhausts.
YouTube is always your friend with this, plus if you do get to go to a meet beforehand, there are plenty of different combinations. How far are you wanting to go back? Just the catback, or front pipe as well?
The biggest factor people look over is the drone too. Many people hate the drone on motorway runs, and certain exhausts will be better than others with that.
