  1. Indeed. Ive had Rob giving me technology lessons by message. Have no idea what im doing hahaaa im 25 and cannnot figure how to use a forum hahaaaa.

Welcome along Tasha, don't worry I'm still getting the hang of forums too.

Nice car and love the red... My second favourite colour.hee...hee..

  2. I've never done a track day in a car before (!!!) and do not possess a car specific helmet.there's a possibility I might be tempted this year.Do bike helmets (I have 4!! Arai Viper + 3xArai Quantum e) pass scrutineering at trackdays or do the helmets have to be car specific?

Might be worth checking you fit in the car with your lid on first before booking a track day.

I've just tried this morning ahead of Oulton Park on the 5th Feb and was surprised how little clearance I have between helmet and roof.

    Oh and I'm 6"1

  3. love 'em all, fast n loud, counts customs, fat n furious, graveyard cars, chasing classic cars, car sos, overhaulin, misfit garage , rod n wheels, the car chasers, sin city motors, phantom works, Jessie James outlaw garage and a ##### is born.  :D

    Me too!

Only problem is wife and kids gang up on me sometimes...

  4. hi i had to buy a auto ted as too tall to drive a manual bit gutted but yeh like a noisier exhaust system as well did u say F1 was only place

I meant forced injection ie turbo or supercharger.

When this is fitted a new exhaust would be required but if there was a simple answer such as remove a cat or change a pipe here or there and keep the TRD quad tailpipes I'd be very interested.

If you find out anything keep us all posted!

  5. I have a TRD with the standard quad pipes, very pleased with it I am too!

There appears to only be 108 TRDs taxed on the road at the moment so quite rare. Must be lots clogging up dealer forecourts if 250 were indeed "converted".

I would like to change the exhaust on mine but keep the quad pipe look, but so far haven't found anyone who has done this without going FI.

    Welcome to comments though...

  6. I spent many years in the RS owners club ( I've since had counselling) and got very frustrated with people that thought if a car didn't have 400 hp+ it was slow and boring. These were the same folk that preferred to go to pub meets and shows and park up all day polishing and cleaning them!

Whenever I suggested track days or a trip to the ring or spa they seemed more worried about stone chips and adding mileage than driving the flipping things.

There is a place for cleaning and polishing and as I make a living from that I can't really complain, however the GT owners club is the club for DRIVERS and all you guys seem to "get it".

BHP is a good thing but without control or handling it means nothing (American cars spring to mind).

I don't have a 400hp car anymore but do I enjoy the GT any less, far from it. It is honestly more fun than ANY car I've owned.

    Rant over ......

    John

  7. Tempting. I'm stuck in the garage trying to fix another (track) car at the moment. That's the priority at the moment. It'll have to wait till that is ready for the year.

    When is it?

    Cheers. A43.

Sorry having a blonde moment, meant Oulton park. it's on the 6th Feb.

  8. Trucks from I think 7.5 tonnes upward are fitted with speed limiters by law if some pass you over 55 at a rate of knots there is a bit of skulduggery going on

Law has changed recently regarding trucks. They are now limited to 60 mph.

I drive a 7.5 DAF and believe me 60mph in ones of those is fast enough, especially when it's windy!

  9. I put mine on a trickle charger, and have been unscrewing the cell caps (old habit) whilst charging.  The Toyota service manager said I did not need to do that with "our" batteries because they are sealed units and I am only trickle charging.

Any thoughts/comments on this would be helpful please.

Had a trickle charger on my old Alfa Romeo and both my bikes, never had a problem..

They are all sealed for life batteries..

  10. Hello Matt and welcome...

Both models have there plus points but I too went for Toyota mainly because at the time there were more available as ex demos.

Good luck with search and keep us all posted on what you decide.
