  1. I have the Header package from TD and its really made the car much more fun, would 100% recommend. Personally I plan on sorting out the rest of the performance aspects (coilovers/ brakes/ wheels/ catback) before spending out on the turbo.

The good thing about the TD setup is that the turbo upgrade is cheaper after getting the headers installed as they are x-compatible. I don't think many packages offer this.

When I had my headers fitted, I did get to have a ride in Mikes Turbo'ed 86 and it was epic (the noise alone is worth the money :)).

I've got the Jdl catted Uel manifold which is basically the same as the one on the link. Video clip below of how it sounds paired with a Hks HiPower Spec L exhaust:

That sounds really nice, how much did it set you back? Do you have a video of the sound outside the cabin by any chance?

RHD / LHD, it makes no difference. the rack sits behind the engine so it has no bearing / effect on the design of a manifold.

Ah cool I did not know that.I looked at the picture and assume as it wraps around to the right the uk version would need to wrap around and exit to the left. Thanks.

  4. Sorry if this one is a common one. After owning my 86 for a few weeks I drove my wife's car again for the first time in a while. It made me realise that changing gear in my car is quite difficult/notchy. Is this just a quirk of the 86 or should I get it looked at? I bought the car nearly new, its a 17 plate with only 3k on the clock.

  5. Yea I'm looking forward to it.

I'm looking to make a few mods but just doing research atm. Thinking of getting some coilovers and some new wheels. I quite like the sound of the speedfactory exhaust with uel headers but it's quite expensive with shipping.
