  1. I’m an idiot, i Only got a partial plate! I know it begins with CP18 and also the make, model and colour of the car... I can imagine it vividly now but the insurance can’t go ahead without the rest of the reg. Anyone know how I can get he rest of it tho? I did take down the ladies number to contact her about it fully after but now she won’t answer my calls or text, what a bummer 😡😡

I'd expect your insurance premium to go up £50-100 regardless of blame, but you shouldn't be liable for excess or anything of the sort.

It looks like it hasn't snapped any of the mounts off as the bumper is still sitting flush. That's good from the perspective of the repairer.  Official channels will source a new bumper, spray it to match your car, install the original parking sensors (possibly) and fit to the car. A bumper loses a lot of its safety properties after it has been stressed, so they will err toward replacement whether it needs it or not. I'd guess £700 or something, which may inflate rapidly depending on what the repair shop thinks they can get away with.

The thing to check will be that the reversing sensors are behaving properly after the repair before you get too far from the garage.

Thanks for all of that, that explains it all really ... the insurance company are quite vague with it all but they’re chasing it up so we will see what they say from there! I’m hoping they do replace the whole bumper as like you said something has probably been dislodged on one of he brackets somewhere so a simple paint job won’t really do it... or the best scenario besides that is the give me the money myself so I can source it myself as I believe I know what I’m looking for a lot better then the insurance company 😂

  3. Hey all, haven’t posted in a while as I’ve neen busy with work and after time fiddling with the car haven’t felt like posting much. Finally sorted out my taillights and fitted some new wheels so I’ll post pictures of that at a later date when I can.

Everything was going good tho till yesterday when a silly lady not from around he area reversed into my car. Have to sort it out with insurance today but I thought I’d get some advice off your guys on what the repair process will be and how much you guys think it’ll cost.

How much do you need? I have a top up bottle of the Toyota branded stuff, not sure how much is in there but I can look tomorrow and would happily do it for delivery costs if it's enough.

Thanks a lot for the offer, it’s really appreciated  but it needs quite a bit so I’m not sure if that bottle will fill. It’s also a bonus to have some spare so I’m gunna try to find some so I have a surplus

  5. So I need to top up my oil and OW-20 is obviously the one Toyota recommend however it’s costly and hard for me to get a hold off. As it’s a secondhand car I’m not sure what oil the car was last topped up with, might be able to check in all the sheets of service documents I have but I’m too lazy to go through it all. Will I be okay to top up with 5W-30 or will it have any affects on the car besides maybe worse fuel economy??

Worth checking blackcircles too, their prices are often better than Camskill / tyre leader.

I have been on their site and they do seem cheap, at least during to compete with others anyway. Thanks for the other replies tho, got a long list of tyres to look at now and see which is best for me!!

  7. Just wondering what tires everyone is running and where they got them from. Looking to fit some new ones in the next few weeks or whenever I purchase some new wheels so pricing up my options now. I want something sticky and slick but still quite affordable.

Tried wrapping mine, might have been cheap wrap but gave up and went for light covers in the end. Spraying has mixed results, if you're good at spraying things then go for it.

My warranty doesn’t cover taillights, it’s just for general wear and tear so that’s why I’ve chose to handle it myself, send me luck I know!  I’ll pass on the wrap then, so what are taillights cover and how much are they???

  9. Thanks again for the reply, I didn’t realised that at first but after watching a few YouTube videos now I’ve realised how easy it is to do so I’ll definitly been doing it soon. Would a hairdryer get rid of the condensation does anyone know?? Hopefully this can fix it easily.

Whilst off I was thinking about spraying or wrapping the taillights red! So has anyone done this or can off any advice???

  10. Not sure where to post this so I’ll just pop it in the general chat. As you can see from the picture below my right taillight is in perfect condition. However my left one is full of condensation. I would think about replacing both if my right one wasn’t in great condition but in a way unfortunately it’s perfect. I was wandering what solutions people have come up with for any similar problems!
