Fixing Paint issue caused from debadging

any specific products recommended? theres so many its hard to know whats rubbish! I cant stand the lack of symmetry on badges so itll stay as is, needs a fix!
  2. Hey all, I am picking up my 86 car this friday/next friday and want to make sure i dont screw up making sure its in good condition before i accept it. Its a used car with previous owner being toyota themselves, 9k miles done. 16 plate. Is there anything on this age of car i should be looking at when picking it up to make sure I dont get nasty surprises down the line? It has a few paintwork scufs from doors opening in to it which obviously are to be removed and cleaned up pre sale, and the rear bodykit bumper had slightly come away from the body of the car, again they said these will all be fixed on the inspection and clean up. Whats your guys thoughts and input? Side note: the car was at 8900 miles when they did my first paperwork, i had some updates done and now the paperwork says 9000... the logical assumption i made was it came to them at 8900 and theyve done 100 of various driving in it (seems to have been with them a few months) and they are just poor at paperwork. But im not sure what to make of that / do about it or if im just over worrying! Cheers for the inputs and good to be on the forums!

    What to check on collection?

Cheers guys, checked with dealer and the car is actually lower than even the initial sign said for mileage, they seem to just be lazy with being accurate writing it down...so thats ok i guess... Will check the tyres and i guess ill have to keep an eye on the gearbox first week of ownership! It had its one year service done as soon as they came into possession of it after toyota HQ handed it down (its an ex staff car not demo). It also does have a nav and there was no seat wear on test drive

    New Owner, Hi!

Hey guys, So after a brief thread a while ago asking questions, today i put down the deposit on my GT86. I have got a 7k mile used (ex toyota employee car) 2016 Manual Aero model in black with nav. Hoping my deal was good, paid 21k with 4k deposit and payments of around 240ish over 24 months with around 10k balloon. Picking it up in a week or two. Is there anything i should know or be aware of? Im currently handling insurance which seems to be doubled vs my old car unfortunately. Also is there anywhere i can find a detailed spec? the sales guy was pretty poor (asked me if a GT86 came in diesel...) so im wanted to see a full run down of what ive bought

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Hey all, Just signed up as ive been looking at a GT86 since they came out back around 2012 but have been too busy with sorting my career out to consider taking on a new car, ive been driving a 1.0 corsa i bought new until now. Im looking at a few different purchase routes for the 86 and wanted some insight from owners as to what are the most sensible. First im trying to decide between used vs new, new means i can get the new MY17 car but the finance is stupid at 5.9% APR so its not a good move money wise, alternatively there are nearly new cars for 20k ish with more sensible dealer finance, some around 2.9% ive seen on auto trader. Finally there are the more aged cars, around 30k miles and some from 2012 onward, my concern here is mechanical issues? Im 25 and driven a car i bought new since my first car, so i have no experience with used cars and really dont want to shell out to find something bad happen, so partly coming here to ask, has that happened to anyone / can it get pricey? Thanks for some insight an help picking the best route to ownership! it will be my daily driver replacing my corsa

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Yeah I've been building my rating since 18 so it's almost maximum possible score, I just assume that Apr is mostly related to salary and mines average so didn't think I'd get the lowest rate also not a home owner, but anything near 3% is affordable for around 10k borrowing to get a 2015 used

Yeah I'd look at a 3 year loan for the difference of what's left after I put in initial money, but it all depends on loan APR which you can't get a baring on until you apply and then it's down in your credit rating even if you don't accept it!

So hire purchase is the best used finance method? I don't see myself getting a new car with the depreciation and Apr your significantly worse off for the sake of a few new MY17 bits which aren't worth the £10k hit

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Yeah I'm leaning toward a 2015 model with as low mileage as I can get. Just looking at financing I assume I'll need a bank loan as dealers don't offer many deals on non new cars?

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Cheers guys, I've got broker offers of 25k on new cars that are decent but still far above used, Toyota finance is 5.9% so the cost over 3 years finance is big and almost makes new a terrible choice over used considering used values, warranty, and wider finance options. when you guys speak about used finance what routes did you take? I looked at bank loans but as Apr is based on credit checks I can't actually see any real world prices!

so does this strengthen going for a used model then? and i do like the aero but they are all sitting at 20k!

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Its more the new MY17 car seems to have a lot of updates and refinements, also silly reason, but i despise the red interior stitching and they got rid of it on the 2017 model! But i may have to over look that factor!

    Prospective owner, some questions!

Thanks I have seen some as low as single thousands for about 14kish, ideally i think id like a used 2015 model as thats 3 years warranty still which may be my length of ownership! I also wondered if there is a guide to trim levels anywhere as it seemed to develop over the last models lifespan that there were more and more trims!
