    Engine coolant

I've not noticed yet in the 86 but my Impreza seemed to use a bit, seems to be a Subaru thing. I found with the Impreza the coolant level wasn't an exact science, if I remember correctly the level was much higher when hot than cold. Remember coolant is 50% water anyway so as the coolant capacity is something around 8 litres, adding a couple hundred ml of water isn't going to do it any harm if it's only slightly low.
  2. Its Mazda on track at Brands on the 2nd. Trackdays.co.uk is a reseller. The Javelin prices will go up as it gets closer. There's two 86's signed up so far. It's been a real friendly atmosphere at both Javelin days I've done so I'm quite looking forward to it

    Robs S/C GT86 Project

Sounds interesting, should be some nice welding porn on the manifold going off their other work. What sort of design is it?

    Insurance tips

S2000's tend to be very pricey to insure due to their unforgiving nature. Greenlight won't touch them.

    Deacons '86

I'll find out in a couple weeks time. Tbh what you've said doesn't sound beyond the realms of possibility as it is strange they wouldn't take my money a month in advance. Perhaps as it's a new scheme the underwriters are still finding their feet with the risk. Still wouldn't be impressed if terms got changed tho!

That is interesting, I was told specifically double and part of the basis of taking the policy. I rang up a week or so ago to book the days insurance but was told they only do it a few days beforehand...

I went with Greenlight about a month ago for the £45 track day cover too, paying a similar amount to you. Makes trackdays a lot cheaper if you insure The excess is double your normal. In my case it makes the excess 600 on track.

    Brake cooling ducts

Fit regardless have you found they have helped?

    Brake cooling ducts

I see yeah, so you've got the whole unit further from the caliper. (and drilled holes) Good to know for anyone else fitting you need to make holes regardless of placement. I went for getting the duct surface flush with the arm without sticky-out bits for better airflow but I can see if you want to save a bit of time that works aswell.

Really? Suprised as when I tested on full lock there was contact with the caliper.

    Recall Notice: Power Steering Defect

Mine was booked in yesterday, my dealer found there were parts available to order on the Toyota system. Seems everyone got the letter this morning so who knows how long that will last!
  12. Unoriginal but I wouldn't be able to say no to a GT3 RS. Otherwise I'm pretty happy, there's not much I can think of I'd swap the 86 for!

Winter Prep - What's your routine?

Just washed with Autoglym shampoo, polished the bonnet and bumper with Autoglym SRP, waxed the whole car with Autoglym HD and applied Rainex to the rear window. I would have sealed with FK1000P but read on the forums where someone had it react with the lacquer on a GT86.
  14. Does the intake pipe delete the resonator? Does it need main hose clamps? Cheers

    Is this car good value?

Yeah I've noticed lots of approved used GT86's with standard 17" wheels listed as 18", it must be a mistake in the Toyota system template.

    Is this car good value?

That Giallo doesn't have 18 inch wheels, it's a mistake on the Toyota website. (Most think 17's are better on this car anyway)
  17. Yeah I don't have a clue about db's tbh, but 101 isn't that stringent; would have thought most would be ok.
  18. TTR's car is the one with exhaust tips wide enough to stick your foot into, it's not that quiet!
  19. I think winter at Bedford is ideal as it's a lot easier on the car. It will either be cold or wet so helping keeping Road tyres and brakes from frying themselves too easily. There's a good few straights so easy for faster cars to overtake.

    DA Virgin.

Looks like a nice deep shine there
  21. Cheers, I'll probably do Motorline.
  22. I need to get a full service booked in this month, I'm going to keep it main dealer to keep the service record indisputable. Locally I've got a choice of Abbey Toyota in Redhill, Motorline in Gatwick or even Jemca in Croydon. Has anyone got a recommendation? - cheers

    Premium membership

Hi, I went to take out the premium membership, I've got the the point where address is submitted and I get bank account details. However I get this sentence displayed on the screen - " Please send payment to the following account with Reference as: {id} " It looks like the id parameter is broken. Do you know what I should use, my username? Cheers
