Indeed it is a bit incongruous, I've seen others give a % limit but 100bhp is our increase limit whether the car is a mondeo or a maserati. That 100bhp will have a different result on each.

We're brokers so we don't set the rules ourselves but the insurers on our panel will have stats that show higher claims incidence with performance mods above 100bhp. Sorry if that rules you out.

No offence taken, I was joking with you (though maybe badly). You may be right. Perhaps the text should be bigger.

Hi Ztox and thanks. Yes indeed, like for like on mods. As regards other parts that'll depend on the repairer you use. With most of the insurers' policies we issue, you have the option of using your own repairer if you have a particular favourite. So if your local Toyota/Subaru dealership is your preferred bodyshop you can use them. That should guarantee OEM parts. If that's important to you please specify this when you get your quote and we can ensure we place you with an insurer that offers it. That prompts me to mention something else that some people don't realise: if you'd like cover for 'driving other cars' added to your policy please mention this at quote stage too as it is not something that is standard anymore these days. Yes we're mod-friendly and the mod limitations are that we can't cover roll cages, nitrous or bhp increase of more than 100 over stock.
