    Rev limit after gear change

No worries. I intend to get flat foot shifting turned off when I get the car mapped again.

Reliability putting me off the 86.

Over 5 years, 45k miles on mine. Oil leak which will be fixed by a replacement cam plate cover, but none of the other issues. The engine issues are almost ALL related to FI cars, you pays your money you takes your risk. Buy a car with remaining warranty and you don't have to worry.
  3. If you're going to go somewhere else, go to a specialist. I wouldn't waste my time going somewhere else, and paying only to have another poor job done.
  4. Can be closed, exhaust now sold.
  5. Covered about 1000 miles on my car. Needs a bit of a clean but otherwise in good condition. Has the jap-style slash cut tips rather than the straighter cut found on the normal TD exhausts. Sounds great and has a really nice sound on overrun, pops and bangs a bit too. Selling as with my car running full decat it's just a tad too loud. For more information: http://www.tuningdevelopments.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=502_625_632&products_id=1468 I'll post some pictures of my actual exhaust in a couple of hours. After £400 but will listen to sensible offers. Can courier at buyer's expense or arrange a meetup to exchange etc.

    Rev limit after gear change

It's flat foot shifting. I used to have this all the time. What happens is you're pressing down on the clutch but the throttle pedal is still in the range where the car thinks your foot is flat (it's got a margin for error so even if pedal isn't quite on the floor the ecu interprets as flat out). The map feature believes you're about to flat foot shift, and cuts the power so you don't blast through the red line as the gear change occurs, but because you're engaging the clutch to do a normal shift it all goes wrong and you end up lurching forwards for half a second before you complete gear change, hit the throttle and the car sorts itself out. If you shift to the power-only map you'll find the issue stops.

    Tapping/Knocking Noise

This is why I go to Abbey or Fensport if I need any work doing, unless it's something I can do myself.

    Best wheel option?

Personally, I would be tempted to go for a slightly lower offset.

    Best wheel option?

Those will do you, but just FYI, the price is for 1 rim.
  11. I am digging that rear seat delete.
  12. Deposit taken pending final sale next weekend, sorry.

    Next Car/GT86 Differences

Got tempted recently to trade the '86 in for a GTR but just couldn't bear the ownership costs.
  15. Don't get wrong Tim, I think it's a great car and a cracking price. But the guys with modded cars trying to sell up recently are having very little success.

Turbo '86 part-out vs trade in

    Adrian does love his holidays.
  17. Sorry everyone but due to being exceptionally busy I'm not going to be able to make this. Probably just as well as the car is drawing unwelcome attention from plod on long trips atm.

    Insurance Advice

It depends on what you were asked: "Have you been involved in a claim?" - You're fine. "Have you been involved in an accident?" - You're potentially leaving yourself open to insurance cancellation and lots of bad stuff.

Turbo '86 part-out vs trade in

You definitely won't get more money from a dealer for the mods. You're always going to get more money for the mods after parting out, and then a standard price for the car.

    TD Catback exhaust group Buy?

If you have a single cat in place, you'll be fine if you go for a resonated one. It's just those of us with no cats who are finding it a bit loud.
  22. Yeah, even the resonated version of this exhaust is just too loud right now. If I was going turbo sooner I'd stick it out but I'm not, so I can't.
  23. I'm buying what I had before my little accident at Blyton, an Invidia Q300.
