    GT86 Reverse Camera Kit

Super helpful. Thanks. As I understood it, these kits are no longer available??

Seen at Geneva yesterday. Toyota C-HR

My Panda is on proper Alpine rated M & S four seasons Good Year Vector tyres. Pretty much unphased by anything other than really slippery rocks. Lockable 4WD, hill descent control, electronic diff locks, underbody protection & so on. Winter pack gives you volcanic bum warmers, a proper heated screen & washer jets. We had a Mk1 Panda 4x4 too. A pre - FIRE version. Great car but chalk & cheese as the Cross is built extremely well & even standard kit is generous. It's a tough, loveable honest little car that does everything really quite well

I initially thought I wanted one as a daily, to replace my excellent Fiat Panda Cross. However, the engine & transmission choices are seriously flawed IMO & the price point is about £3k too high. Why no manual 1.2 4WD with decent tyres?!?! More of a fashion statement than a vehicle with any real purpose.

Had a good look at one at FRF Swansea yesterday. Hugely impressed, completely reinforcing my "affordable car of the show" at Geneva this year. Stunning to look at, inside & out. Very sporty stance, ditto driving position. Very decent boot & reasonable space in the rear when set for my driving position. Not cheap though & engine choices a bit strange / limited but overall, loved it.

    GT86 Facelift pic

Saw this yesterday. Our car has the leather covered binnacle so only the steering wheel controls, one piece dash / stereo insert suppound & possibly the spoiler appealed. Didn't like the wheels, body differences were meh, TFT screen useful but looked out of place being square in a round. DAB is standard & the head unit looked simplified. The CHR was stunning though.

  7. Just had a look at some reviews, and yeh, it sounds awful! I don't know how thy managed to screw that one up when it had all the ingredients to be great. Bunch of people who have forgotten how to make a sportscar. Its one of the best looking cars I've ever seen though. So, I'll have to change my mind again....to the lotus exige s. It's fairly typical of Alfa although the new Giulia promises otherwise. The 4c didn't get the suspension changes for U.K. roads. Reviews loved it in Italy etc. Thankfully, it's easily changed with some geo changes & for less than £200! It really is a junior supercar though. Carbon tub & so on.

One on order - new GT86 in GT86 Blue

The dealer principal has been great when we had the problems. Toyota were being wishy washy over the ABS pump so he issued a JFDI instruction to service. Also agreed to cover the first three services & put us in a nice car whilst it was off the road for 3 weeks. Service however. Pretty unresponsive. Over the DAB issue & the free Satnav updates. I need to chase them ref the latter as Toyota are saying yes but the dealer needs to follow it up. Have emailed them all the proof, screenshots etc but it's like pulling teeth
  9. A what 4c??? They get poor reviews in general but I have several friends with both versions who love them. I was going to order one at the launch despite the £12k blind deposit. I didn't because I couldn't get out unaided due to a knackered back. Also, we tour mainland Europe in our cars so the washbag sized boot would rule that out!

    She's lovely. Proper old school.
  11. It's not that bad. Certainly not as bad as my 105 Series Alfa Spider. The new A500 with the Koni adaptive set us is great. I really want one of those with the performance pack.

One on order - new GT86 in GT86 Blue

So then. Just over a year on & almost 11k travelled, 2,200 miles of those on our ill fated trip in May. Anyway, the engine is so much sweeter & gutsier now it's well run it. I've recently driven both incarnations of the 124 Spider. Neither are a patch on the 86!

  16. I drove the Abarth version today. Sounded great, nice inside but suffered from considerable scuttle shake with the roof down. Not apparent on more softly sprung standard car. Now that our GT86 has over 10k miles on it, it would run rings around either!

    Tyre pressures - fully laden?

Afternoon all, Is there no increase in pressures when the car is loaded up? Do they stay at the recommended 35psi regardless? Unlike our other cars, neither the pillar sticker nor the manual say anything about increasing when loaded up...... Cheers, Simon

    Clean cars thread

Gave the wife's 86 a good wash & wax today. Looks great but discovered a paint flake bubble. No rust. Weird. Looks great from a distance but at only 10k miles, the front bumper already looks a bit peppered

    Replacement battery

Tidied it up today with some cloth loom tape. Looks neat, works superbly as with all CTEK products

    Insurance for a 20 year old :(

As an older owner, I can remember paying £762 fully comp on a brand new Ford Fiesta XR2 in 1988 (I was 18). I wonder what that is in today's money?? Edit. £1428.50!

    Replacement battery

Our Sept 15 Car has the black top / clearish sides. It's not let us down even when it's not been used for a few weeks. This morning, I wired in a CTEK comfort indicator connector. Two of our cars (Alfa Spider & Fiat Seicento) have them as they are mainly seldom used toys. A great system as easy to connect the charger & assess the guts in the battery. Our 86 has stood for two days after a 160 mile run. The battery is flashing red!! It'll be on charge tonight for sure.

Hard wiring a Road Angel Gem+

The wire does "tap" on the screen over rough roads. Ordered some self adhesive wiring loom cloth tape to combat it Really appreciate the help.

Hard wiring a Road Angel Gem+

Evening all. My wife has one of these fitted on the centre bottom of the windscreen of her 86. The battery life is crap so she runs a USB cable from the centre console box up over the dash. Is there an easy way to run said cable up through the inside of the console so it comes up at the centre of the dash at the base of the screen? I guess the knee pads pop off? Thanks in advance, Simon
