Hi @Smulers, that's right :) As @Lauren has quite helpfully pointed out, this is a direct bolt on as I've kept everything required for the next owner to use. It's a relatively straight forward job so long as you have the tools. I'm just known for being a princess so I have the specialists carry it out while I raid their fridge for Coke Zero...

  2. Hi All,

For sale is my rear ARB, removed yesterday to make way for a new one.

There is nothing wrong with this ARB, it's served me perfectly well, in fact it's a super rare ARB sourced from a Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback. At 16mm, it's +2mm on the OEM specification, giving you a lot more turn-in composure without any loss of control. It's a brilliant addition to any GT86/BRZ as it changes what already is a great setup to an almost go-kart feel with the point-and-go level of precision.

The ARB has been carefully removed by Dream Automotive along with the rear OEM droplinks which are still in perfect condition (included in the sale), so would be a directly replacement bolt-on, DIY time is 45 minutes - 1 hour.

    What you'll get:

    • 16mm Anti-Roll Bar
    • Bushes
    • OEM rear drop links

@Kesler are you going to be at the Yaris GRMN day on Monday? Will be my second time in the Yaris, proper little beast, hope the rest of the range meets up to the expectation it’s going to set!

Unfortunately I will be in the office monitoring the social media channels on Monday :( I'm not sure if Mat is going to be there to greet you and arrange your day there, but enjoy - take it to the limit! How did you find your initial impression of the Yaris GRMN

Lotus don’t make engines. The engines in the current Elise, Exige and Evora are Toyota engines.

That's correct - the Toyota built engine for the Lotus Elise, hence I say 'Lotus engine' instead of 'engine from Lotus' :)

Perhaps I could have said 'Toyota engines used in the Lotus lineup' but hindsight is such a wonderful thing

  6. Howdy all,

Perks of the new job means I have access to more information for you regarding anything Toyota or Lexus related.

The other day, Toyota's Gazoo Racing (GR) division announced a new GR range for some of the cars.

    https://toyotagazooracing.com/release/2017/other/0919-01.html

With 100 of the Yaris GRMN (1.8 litre supercharged Lotus engine, ~210bhp) confirmed coming here, TMC plan to bring the GR series out of Japan so we may see some more development coming to the UK.

    What do you guys think?

  7. Hi everyone,

For ages I've been looking at getting seat covers for the GT86, especially for the colder, dirtier Winter times. The garage I help out at made some seat covers for the Civic Type R FK2, so it wouldn't be a problem to get these done for our cars.

Many people have had these seat covers on their Civic Type Rs, including my old EP3, tailormade to fit the original Nisin shape, as well as the other ones tailormade for the Anniversary edition Recaros, and the thick nylon quality is so epicly good, the material is super thick and as it's made for the car, it fits like a glove - no overhang! It will be tailormade to fit both Driver and Passenger side so the seatbelt loop strap and the seats' airbags will be accommodated either way. These will be a handwash only product (not machine washable).

I'm building an interest list/group buy because it costs a fair bit to research and develop the seats perfectly. Though the price may look high, I can vouch that it would the the first and only seat cover you will need for the GT86/BRZ. I need a minimum of 10 orders to secure the cost of the production.

Pictures of example seat covers made attached.

    • Choice: Red or Black
    • Location: Covers to be made and sent out
    • Price: £50.00 each (including P&P to UK)

Whaaaaat, I thought you said I had some proper leaning action around one of the hair pins or something emoji24.png

Ha! I do recall saying that I had leaning shots - particularly that turn that catches everyone out and you see the cars cocking a wheel up. You drove very sensibly and thus, was leaning but not to that extent!

I do have that photo, if I have time tonight I'll send that over to you :)

Awesome pics Andy....but where are my action shots you promised me????!!!!!! :P  Great chatting to you again though!  And thanks Tom, that's my baby in yellow!

Haha I don't remember promising that! But hopefully next time, now that I know how things work at the track, I should be able to take more photos :)

What an awesome day :D was nice to see some of the new faces (and just faces I just haven't seen because i'm down south), I haven't quite put faces & names to cars properly though, or names to faces come to that but I think we all had fun, I was fairly knackered by the end of it and cold.

No major incidents which is nice, I am lead to believe there is photographic evidence of me spinning around in circles. I'm yet to bribe said photographer to not post it up

Hahaha I'll spare your blushes don't worry. It was great meeting everyone - although I didn't have much time to chat as this track involved a lot of walking around! Blagged some great vantage points and took a few photos:

  11. Right, so on closer inspection I was missing the markings on the number plate to make it road legal, deeming it to be showplate only. Phoned the supplier who apologised and sent out a new one with the markings.

Just as well as there was a blemish on the first plate which I wasn't too happy about.

I've also measured the centre cap diameter for my new wheels and subsequently bought these:

  12. I wondered if it was a BC meet on Sunday as I saw loads of nice cars on the A27 when I was down near Lewes and Brighton. Some nice roads down near Goodwood for driving too.

Sorry mate, what's a BC meet? But almost certainly there were epic cars everywhere that day:

  13. I'd imagine that these days that most tunes are base maps then just touched up for individual cars. Once a tuner gets a few throough the door you manage to work out what works and the maps to change.

Mase (Steve Mason: http://maseengineering.com/blog/) was always the go-to guy when I was in the Honda scene, they fly him in from the States. I think Spencer has had his Boxer Spyder done by him too. I just wondered if you knew him as he's always at Honda meets like Mimms etc.

Ah now you've explained it I think I do know Mase - he works with Mark (Advance Evolution, was in Watford now in North Weald) on some tuning projects when he's in the UK yes. But thank you for the info on mapping.

I think I'm not in a position where I require a map as yet - currently getting the cosmetics sorted. Toyota has taken their sweet time with the car, and as a result they've driven it more than I have!

That said, there was an Orange and a Red 86 at the Supercar Sunday breakfast club in Goodwood over the weekend, the guy in the red waved, so I wonder if he is on here.

The journey from Hemel to Aldershot to Goodwood did feel like an episode of Initial D; rainy mountain type roads, hillclimbs, downhill chases, an 86. All I was missing was some tofu and a cup of water.

  14. Isn't that what everyone wants, more power/faster acceleration? You can do anything you want with the mapping. Being a Honda lad, why not get Mase do it? My mate keeps badgering me as he knows Mase well. Come to mention it, I wonder if you know my mate Spencer.... used to have a S/C EP3.

    Hey Knightryder,

I think everyone wants the ECU to be more understanding, get rid of any EMLs, see the improvements of any bolt-ons and fine tune/fettle things to suit the driver. Well, that's what I believe anyway!

If everyone just wants more power/faster acceleration tuners could just build a base map for people and be done with it - but hey, I actually know nothing about mapping!

Who is Mase? If I were to tune the Honda back then it'll be either Paul or Romain, wouldn't let anyone else touch the ECU. Not sure of a Spencer mate, there are loads of supercharged/turbo Civics out there so I might have said hello but not know who he is!
