    Kenwood DDX920WDABS

Glad you sorted the bracket. The only thing I can think of for the steering controls is making sure the handbrake wire is grounded or the handbrake is on if you've connected it to the right wire, that might open up the option. If that doesn't work it could well be the connector that's the issue, either the pins are broken or they're in the wrong place. The photo isn't working for me for some reason.

I'm a bit late and I'm not sure how useful I'll be. I fitted the DDX919WS earlier in the year on a car without steering wheel controls. I seem to remember the manual having some instructions for teaching the car what each button on the wheel corresponds to, it required a little bit of set up in the settings menu before they'd work basically. Apologies if you've already got that far and it's still not working! The bracket was a bit of a fiddle, but I think I was just lining up with different slots than I expected and with a bit of test fitting I got there in the end. If you're still having trouble I can pull it out of the car and see what I did, they're probably fairly similar units.
  3. I'm selling a full set of 3SDM 0.06, measurements are 18x8.5 5x100 ET35. The wheels are in excellent condition, with no marks or scuffs on the faces. There are a few marks on the rear from tyre fitting. The wheels were purchased by the previous owner so I'm not sure of their exact age, but I think they're only a couple of years old with just a few thousand miles under them. There's no sign of them having been refurbished since purchase. Their condition is a real credit to the previous owner. The wheels are fitted with 4x Sailwin Sportway 56 tyres. 225/40 R18. These were fitted by the selling dealership in mid 2021 and used for less than 1000 miles. They're in excellent condition with a lot of life left. Honestly they're not the most grippy tyres, particularly in the wet, but I found them to be reasonably progressive at their relatively low limits despite my minimal talents behind the wheel. Plastic spigot rings are currently fitted. All wheels are weighted and balanced. TPMS valves are fitted. One valve was new in 2021 although at least one has now run out of battery. I'm looking for £550, collection only (near High Wycombe). Although if you've got a courier who's willing to take them unboxed then you're welcome to arrange collection. Imgur link with more detailed photos.
  4. I'm selling a Remark axle-back exhaust muffler delete. It's the single walled version with burnt titanium tips. This was installed by the previous owner so I'm unsure of the exact age, but it is likely to be a couple of years old with around 5,000 miles being travelled in that time. Excellent condition, welds are all good quality. This is one of the lightest twin exit axle-backs available for these cars. Fair warning: this is a loud exhaust - too loud for me. If you're wondering if it will be too loud then it's probably not the exhaust for you! Fits all 2012-2021 models. It's designed to fit onto an OEM mid-pipe so many aftermarket mid-pipes won't be compatible. It comes with two removable mufflers for changing the exhaust note, one of which is shown in the pictures. These aren't sold with the exhaust as standard, and I'm unsure of the make. They can easily be removed or adjusted with an allen key. I can supply a brand new gasket for a 2012-2016 car. The original gasket that fits all cars is also available, although I think these are single use items. Both of the bolts are also available if required, although one of them has been bent at some point. I'm looking for £250, collection preferred (near High Wycombe) but I can post it at the buyer's expense (likely £20-£30). Thanks for looking, let me know if you have any questions.

Would a muffler delete be too loud?

Well that's not great news. Sounds as if you might be in the market for a catback then, which might stretch your budget a bit. Used stock catbacks are pretty cheap, and the 2017 and onwards version is meant to be a bit more corrosion resistant, but that just gets you back to square one.

Would a muffler delete be too loud?

I bought a BRZ with a Remark muffler delete back in the summer. I liked it at first but it came off after a few weeks, I swapped it for an HKS Legamax Premium. It was pretty loud but if the rest of your exhaust is stock it's not obnoxious when you're driving around normally. It did make me change up quicker when driving through town to keep the noise down though. Cold starts were incredible, the car made a great noise which really gave it a sense of occasion, but I realised I was getting reluctant to use it late at night. The neighbours I spoke to about it all said they didn't mind and liked the car but a lot of them have young kids and probably need all the the quiet they can get. Resonance/drone was a bit of an issue, I found you needed to drive around two points of resonance at around 2200rpm (50ish in 6th) and 4500rpm, I adapted pretty quickly and didn't mind too much but I suspect it would bother most people. I've since discovered that others have been able to get around this with other exhausts by changing the hangers (https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143514) so it might have been possible to reduce it that way. For me the noise was a bit too much though. I enjoyed it on country roads and could generally live with the additional cabin noise, but it personally made me feel a bit self-conscious in residential areas and setting off at night. I suspect I'm more tolerant of NVH than others though and a lot of people would just find it unbearable. I had all sorts of reactions to it, some people loved it, others found it hilarious, and a few just rolled their eyes. Generally less people are interested in coming up for a chat about the car since the exhaust came off, not sure if that's a positive or negative. Whilst I'm happier with the new exhaust I do miss the noise sometimes, it definitely feels less "special" now and much more normal. I'll probably get a new manifold at some point and hopefully that will add a bit of noise; just not too much. It's still hanging around in my garage and I've been meaning to get around to selling it. So if you still want one after that review I'm not far from London and I can provide one for less than the £350 a new one costs. It's got the titanium effect tips. I've got no receipts for it but based on the condition I'd say it was around a year old and had maybe done a couple of thousand miles. Even the gasket was in good condition - although I'd advise a new one. Let me know if you're interested.
