It is really good to see that a few guys have gone over the 100k mark with no major problems 🙂 it give me hope when mine goes that high 😜

Yeah, I think that has to be the next step. Do some track work, see what happens. As Lauren said, if I do track stuff I can well imagine the brakes will suffer and a big brake kit would be an idea. But if I'm not a fan then I can think about TD turbo kit 🙂

Well if you went to a track you'd be able to start justifying all sorts of bits like oil temperature and pressure gauges, maybe an oil cooler, catch can. Maybe a couple of Recaros. But if it's road only you're better off saving for forced induction.

Bbk: unless you take the car on track probably not much point. They look good though IMO. KSports front are good value for under 1k (rear are just too expensive for little added benefit). Reyland Motorsport (AP calipers with their own rotors) are great option if a bit more expensive at 1.5k.

Pads: I think Yellowstuff are great outside track (not noisy). The only reason I consider using different next time is because I went FI route.

But if you want power, FI is the way. TD turbo option is well priced and executed, very different feel and tremendously enjoyable even on a normal weekend drive.

But honestly, take it on track at least once, push it to the grip limit, see how it handles, much easier than to decide whether and what you may want to mod.

Oh, I think tinted windows are much better . Was planning may be to carbon wrap spoiler, mirrors and few other bits, but decided better to spend money on extra track day and tuition.

Yeah sounds like you're looking for an excuse to blow some money on bolt-ons

It's bit of an unusual thread. You normally mod a car based on what you as the owner feels it's missing or falls down on. Asking other people what you should blow your cash on is, well, different. Is there anything you don't like or think needs improving? Because none of us can tell you what you think.

Don't bother with anti-roll bars, they will only reduce traction. I'm not convinced on chassis bracing either, it's fairly stiff anyway. BBK - the AP four pot kit from Reyland for £1500 is amazing, but only worth it if you track it or like fast descents on Alpine passes. Weight reduction is pointless too, unless you are racing. Poly bushing makes a difference but only if you have high mileage (changed mine over at 100K miles) and things like the SPL rear lower arms sharpen up the rear end.

Shifter springs are a great inexpensive mod to improve the driving feel

Don't waste money on an intake kit. HKS drop in panel filter if anything. Exhaust, too expensive to get in the UK, HKS system would be a nice alternative.
Start with exhaust / suspension. 18" wheels will require lowered ride height if you want it to look decent, also something like 9.5J wheels will probably require coilovers, depending on the offset it might rub on the stock strut.
HKS/Tuning Developments/Cobra cat-less manifold would be the first noticeable power mod you can do, especially when it unlocks the possibility of a remap from Tuning Developments.
Either way, I did this: Panel filter > exhaust > suspension > wheels & tyres

You're probably done with naturally aspirated short of boring the engine for extra capacity.

It's a turbo or supercharger next!

Without knowing how you use the car it's hard to say, do you do track days or is it purely a daily driver?
Do you feel like there is a deficiency with any part of the car?
Assuming you track the car, the one thing missing from you list is braking. I'd suggest some uprated pads and fluid.

Modify the driver. Track time and tuition. Squishy thing behind the wheel is generally what needs modifying most

Yeah, I got my car done a few weeks ago now and difference is amazing. I gained 19hp top end and about the same torque but the mid-range gain is incredible. WELL worth the investment!
This is my sheet with an UEL manifold.

Now it's all in one piece and alive once again you should get yourself to tuning development mate. I got mine a new UEL manifold and a remap (their N/A package) about 4 or 5 weeks ago and the difference is incredible. So much more mid range torque!

    Cheers guys
Never driven one before but i'm quite enjoying it. I've not had a car that loves to be revved right out through the range before so the driving home from work through the twisty roads of the sussex dyke is always fun

Yep! Think I'll be giving that a shot after Japfest 😀 I've got 2 jacks so one can take some of the strain of the subframe weight as I jiggle it back into place.
I've looked at them before and they're not too expensive, especially if they make that much different. Guess that's the next project ... as well as induction ... and maybe a strut brace 🤣🤣🤣

I fitted the Superpro version a while back, definitely worth doing. Did it on my last car as well.
For a DIY job I'd give it a Haynes 3/5 spanner rating, as on the 86 as soon as you remove the bolts the subframe shifts a little and you need to line it back up perfectly with a jack.
You need to be really careful threading them back in or you are in deep shit if it cross threads. It's not rocket science, but do not do this job in a rush!
