Its sad to be reading review like this (from @itsuki), but considering many of us from the UK have used Tuning Developments multiple times I feel compelled to chip in too.
I have used them many times (first NA, then TD Turbo kit), and in fact all my major mods have been done or installed by Mike's team ( @Mike@TD.co.uk). Never had any issues and the service was always superb (had a manifold blow once, Mike fitted me basically next day and got it sorted pronto). Admittedly, I would go to Warrington myself and speak to Mike as to what I want/ what options are available, etc.
I am not surprised reading "horror stories" about shipping recently. We have covid, brexit and particularly over November-December I had parcels lost, delivered 3-4 weeks later, etc (for example my new wheels were delayed, and then DHL notification arrived a week after the wheels themselves - go figure).
Large number of satisfied customers hopefully will back me up with their 1st hand experience, although there would be an occasional story with unhappy ending (as I have heard with forged engine) - like with any business. Limited Google or FB reviews are not (probably) the representative sample, although anyone who feels they have to leave a 1* review should be listened to by the business aiming to improve their customer service.
I hope with the move to new premises and increase of business Mike will also get someone to help with the customer service/ tracking shipping/ other admin and client communication stuff.

In these unprecedented times of Covid19, Jordan’s family have arranged a small private service for Jordan Wade on Wednesday 23rd September at 12.00pm. Unfortunately only those that we have specifically invited can attend, but we have arranged a live webcast, so you can all watch the service online, and join us in celebrating Jordan's life. Details are all included in the Funeral Notice, but here again are the webcast details: https://www.wesleymedia.co.uk/webcast-view Login / Order ID: 48091 Password: ygwrfmtf Please also consider clicking on the link to donate to MIND, a charity very close to our hearts at this time. https://www.mind.org.uk/donate/ Or if you’d prefer to help raise funds for Jordan’s family in their own time of need, here is the link to the JustGiving page - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/steve-tiley...

It is with very sad news that I have to announce that Jordan Wade has lost his battle with depression. To many he was the cheeky and often controversial face of the club and whilst I always saw him as a good friend and a true petrolhead that loved nothing more than to while the night away talking cars with a pint in hand. Those were the good times.
However, he had a true passion for all things automotive for which he lived and breathed. A kindred spirit I always thought if ever there was. That is what I'll miss Jordan for. I have spoken to Jordan in the past about his depression and I really hoped that things were getting better, but that wasn't the case and there is nothing I or anyone it seems could do.
I am not sure what we will do from here as I would have been at the funeral, but I seriously doubt current circumstances will allow. I am meeting with Richard to have a discussion about it, but feel that if we can't be there we should perhaps organise something else and Jordan would have liked a good amount of GT86 presence. So I will have a think about that and welcome any ideas.
I have spoken with Jordan's girlfriend, Michelle and she is understandably devastated and confused by the whole turn of events. I have let her know that we are there to support her and we will.
I am just so terribly sorry to have to tell you all about losing one of our best and I think most loved members of the club.
Apologies for not making a very well written post, I am just so sad and I can't think straight.

Good to hear progress is being made, although I'll bet it's so frustrating given how many issues you've had. This project must be getting on for five years now. Still, hopefully you'll make Japfest next year!

    Hi all

I actually picked up my 86 last month but work and driving it have got in the way of posting here. It's a Blue Edition with the performance pack, and while I'm the second owner it was a little used demonstrator so feels like a new car!

Daily driver (but working from home for now so not that daily) and the plan is to keep it standard for now. I'm loving getting to know it and haven't had a hint of buyers remorse. It's the first car I've owned in a while that makes me grin just looking out of the window and knowing that it's mine.

I've always said it's better to spend money on making the driver quicker with track days/tuition than making the car quicker. I've never actually stuck to that motto, but I'm hoping this is the first time!

Welcome. Very nice! If it was available when I bought mine, I think I would have gone for the blue performance pack version.
Kept mine stock for 3 years and loved every minute of driving it road and track. Only now starting to add a few things. Definitely fulfils the look back test, always glance back after parking it, even now!
    Also nice pies!

I’m personally glad that they’ve not switched to the new chassis with a turbo engine because I don’t think they’d get that sweet balancing chassis/ engine using one of the new modular Lego chassis that VAG group like to use to save a lot of money.
I’ve said that I would be happier if they just stopped making the car altogether because they set out to achieve what they wanted and it was always down to the owners/tuning companies to fettle with them as much as they pleased.

Angelina reacted to Jay in Lockdown fuel consumption
Because of absence of traffic jams during lockdown, fuel economy of my '17 GT86 improved significantly. My daily commuting distance is about 31 miles, which used to cost me about a gallon each working day. Over the past two months this dropped to almost 40 mpg. That's a decrease of 22.5%. Also the fuel prices dropped significantly, so there's extra money in the pocket. It can't be spent, however,  as the pubs are closed.

There are so many things in that article that I don't agree with. The obvious one is a move to the 2.4l engine. Forget the numbers, it will feel much more flexible in real-world acceleration and pickup. Some people seem to be expecting a Supra for 86 money. Not going to happen. We should be grateful that such a car still exists in this age of anodyne electric bore-fest.

Angelina reacted to Lauren in Directors wanted!
    Dear all,
As many will know, Rob, Keith, Alec and I setup this club back in April 2013. Many years have passed and we now find ourself in the situaiton where we would like to put out to find replacement directors.
Alec has been lost to Elite Extreme, Rob sold his car years ago and Keith is finding himself far less involved with the club than he used to. I as many know have a new car on order, a GR Yaris, but I am happy to stay on as I have so many friends I've made through the club and am still around for day to day running of the club. I also want to ensure continuity.
What does being a director involve?
We are directors of a not for profit limited company. This means that as a director you have limited liability in the unlikely event that some disgruntled person decides to sue the club, it means they cannot sue you directly. Important for your own protection, unfortunately.
I want to see new directors, for which there are three available position, take the club forward. We have a new GT86 to look forward to next year and it's fair to say that the club has grown very well and we are well established in the show and motorsport scene.
It will mean that a director (though you can delegate to committee members) will need to take care of the club accounts and paypal accounts and we will also need someone to cover the club clothing side and the like. Further work is needed with affiliates to ensure they pay their dues as we rely on trader fees and membership to pay for the running of the club.
I welcome any questions and I would say it's very rewarding sometimes. I am also very proud of what we have achieved in the last seven years and I'd love to see it continue.

I’m running 16x7 fox racing wheels that are 3kg lighter than the stock wheel and tyre setup.
Using a 205/55R16 Dunlop winter sports.
I think the car does ride better over the bumps and the unavoidable pot holes. The steering has lost a little of its initial turn in but once you get used to it the car feels more progressive from understeer to oversteer.

    Hey guys,
Been a fan of this forum and especially the car since release, currently saving up for one of them...the TRD 14R to be precise, gotta few kinks to figure out - namely the 10 year registration issue and having the money saved for the car.
But just wanted to make my presence known as i have a stupid amount of parts stored up waiting for it, even if it is 2025/6! Not gonna go the finance way, just saving and stashing but just wanted to show my face as it were and enjoy the journey.
Thanks for reading if you did and hope the post is ok!

    Hi all,
I've just put a deposit down on a beautiful orange GT86. I've been on the lookout for a car for a while and I've had a rollercoaster of an experience.
So I had 2 cars lined up one weekend, an orange 86 with black trim for the roof of the car, wheels and windmirrors. Very nice car but slightly high miles (72k). I phoned up Friday to reserve the car and it turned out that someone had put a deposit on the car and made the purchase that evening.
Fine, not a problem, there was modified blue GT86 I was to be seeing that Sunday. On Saturday I get a notification on Facebook that the listing has been removed....hmmm. I message the lad and unfortunately the poor fella has been in an accident and written off the car :(
Thankfully nobody was injured and he's okay which is good news.
I have now been able to purchase a 2016 orange GT86 with 54k miles on the clock, single owner for £11.9k. Very happy with my purchase and can't wait to pick it up!
I've been driving my dad's Audi A1 and been wanting my first car for a while. I've got a lot of plans for modifications!
Anyway, just wanted to post here and say hi to all!

Yeah, it is an interesting thing where people move onto. For me whilst I am excited about what the new GT86 may bring, I've had my car for seven years, been to the moon and halfway back and done everything I can with the car. I've not made any changes to it in two and a half years now. I think I'm ready to try something different. First turbo, first 4WD, but the absolute appeal is being able to own a proper homologation special and that is ticking a big box for me. So much so, that I just couldn't resist!
Cars like these will not exist in the not to distant future and it' got a manual gearbox. Got to make the most of it while you can I think. Also ticking another box is ordering a car that hasn't even made production yet, super excited to follow the build up which is going to be a long one. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

Super exciting. It is very interesting to see the forum members move on to different cars - some onto new boxer engines ones ( Porsche) , some onto the new Supra and now the Yaris GR.

Now looking forward to 2nd Gen BRZ/GT86 and what it holds in store!

I made an initial deposit yesterday of £500 in an effort to get an early build slot when things start happenning.
Went for Pure White with  Circuit Pack. No other other options at present. That may change, we shall see. There will be a UK unveil at Goodwood FOS in July, with dealer demos in October. Delivery is January 2021, but it could move forward to November. Really excited!
