Missing panel under glove box

I recently bought 2020 BRZ. I noticed that under the glove box there is exposed wiring and part, almost like there should be a panel there but it's missing (see pics). The dealership said this is standard and the other BRZs they have are the same. Is this true? Should it look like that?
