Billy THE Kidd 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2021 Hello all, and apologies upfront as I would imagine this question has been asked many times already, however, I have spent nearly 1-hour searching through posts to no avail. I have a UK spec 2015 GT86 and am looking to fit new brake discs and pads all around but, I'm having trouble establishing whether the rear discs I purchase should be vented or solid. The currently fitted discs are solid but I believe they are cheap after markets and may not be correct. hence my query. AFAIK the standard UK spec replacements should be as follows (including fronts): FRONT: Ø294mm vented REAR: Ø290mm ??? FYI, I am looking at MTEC and they seem to be offering non-UK spec size discs in both vented and solid but at different diameters so the confusion continues. I'm not looking to upgrade my system (calipers) or anything like that, I just want to make sure I buy the right discs for the rear and the question is, vented or solid as the thickness will obviously be a factor with the standard calipers. Cheers people for any support you can provide in clearing up this query for me.
Leeky 84 Report post Posted March 24, 2021 100% Vented. I cant say I’ve ever seen an 86 with solid rear discs. Maybe they are from the Primo models that came with smaller brakes? 1 Kaltorak reacted to this
