Mike@TD.co.uk 467 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Hi all, As it stands currently, we get a good amount of customers whom travel in the region of 2 hours and more in many cases to come to us in Warrington, which is lovely! If we were to move and for example, your journey to us was extended in some cases by between 40 - 60 minutes. Would that influence your decision to make the journey? On a side note from that question, if we then also offered a collection and delivery service - would that interest people from further afield? Open to comments/opinions. Thanks Mike
Badger 63 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Collection and delivery would be useful for people like myself, but would depend on if the cost was cheaper than fuel each way and an overnight stop. You thinking of going up north or heading south? Another idea would be what about a drop off and collection from a local hotel? 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Mike 458 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 I'm moving shortly and will be ~10mins away again.... don't move 😂 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
MartinT 514 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 I'm currently over 3 hours from you. That's my limit, if you moved any further away I couldn't make it. Collection/delivery is sadly of no use to me as it's my daily driver. 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Daninplymouth 61 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Wouldn’t make any odds to me as I already do 41/2 hours so the move might be better for me 👍🏻 collection and delivery would be handy though especially for those bigger jobs 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
willclarke 50 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Don't think it'd affect me too much as I think the quality of work you do is worth making the journeySent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this

Agreed. I've been thinking about going forced induction for a while and one the downsides of going the TD route is the travelling (well that and the fact I'd like a DIY option but that's a different discussion entirely). 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
GravelRash 62 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Don't think it would influence me too much; the quality of the work is more important, as is the relationship and trust that you've built up. Collection wouldn't work for me as it's my daily driver. 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Carver 16 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 I’m about and hour so away so a little more is no issue. Leaving the car with you for the day and having lunch at Grill Singhs in Warrington is a nice day out so you moving somewhere less interesting to hang around in would make me think twice. If you’re moving Westward that would be nice and I’d be happy to help out as a delivery driver. 😀 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
mart86 9 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Happy with the service so wouldn't really bother me. Would just continue to make a day out of any visits. Collection/delivery would come down to cost vs convenience. Any ideas of a location? Need to book in for a service & mot in June so just don't move before then 😂 Which reminds me, did those orange K Sport brakes ever come in? Said you'd let me know but haven't heard anything. 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Al86 4 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 Hour and a half from telford but I get half motorway half back road to play with whatever goodies I've had fitted 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Addymk2 6 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 Do you record the posctodes of past, present and planned future customers? If so, plot them and see their spread around the UK. If they're in an Excel/easily accessed format, you're welcome to PM them to me (sanitised) and it's a 5 minute job to see where your customers are based mate You've gave no indication as to the direction of the move, N/E/S/W which would also have a dink on clientel. Regardless though, the UK is tiny so I can't see it having a massive effect. If someone can't hack a 3 hour + drive they need to sort their priorities out 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Mike@TD.co.uk 467 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 Thank you all for your feedback, it is appreciated. Taken on board all suggestions and comments so thank you for those. Recovery obviously would need to be priced per location - definitely something we can try and price competitively versus sourcing third party vehicle recovery. Again, thank you Mike
gavin_t 184 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 Essex to Warrington was an over night affair for me anyway. So if you was a little further it wouldn't stop me using you again. Good service is always worth traveling for IMO 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
BRZ-123 174 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 I am also at the limit of commute 3 + hrs each way and definitely prefer the same day service, drive in drive out. Further afield will rule me out and potentially to Abbey or Fensport.Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Exemandr 11 Report post Posted March 17, 2020 I have been down and up from Glasgow twice so far @ 3.5->4hrs each way depending on traffic - still want to get the Turbo done so hopefully your moving North 😉 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this

Tweedbean 151 Report post Posted March 22, 2020 A good mechanic is always worth travelling the longer distance for 2 O'Keeffe 88 and Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
Kaltorak 111 Report post Posted April 7, 2020 Missed you had posted this. I'd still be willing to travel the extra distance, but I think the proposed move means you still about the same time away from me. As tweed said, a good mechanic is worth it! 1 Mike@TD.co.uk reacted to this
