Alz_D 3 Report post Posted January 10, 2020 It's that time of year again where I have to renew on the 86. My current insurer (esure) decided to increase this years premiums which must be some sort of reward for my extra year of no claims..... This has led me to shop about. Price comparison websites were all coming in around the same as esure at the £560 mark, I tried Flux but they have come out at £650 which is a shame. Cheapest I can find is Admiral at £350 going to them direct however they review terribly online. I know that people generally write reviews when they are dissatisfied but at the same time it's a bit concerning. Anyone here insure with them? Am I overthinking this? Should I just go with Admiral :/ I'm 37 with 3 years no claims and a clean licence (company car before also with zero claims) and do 7k per year for reference. VAD17 479 Report post Posted January 10, 2020 For unmodified cars I find Direct Line was cheapest for me last 2 yrs (on my other car), prior to that Esure. For my modified GT86 I am currently with Need2Insure, which also has a benefit of 5 track days included. Alz_D 3 Report post Posted January 10, 2020 Thanks for the reply - I should have mentioned it's got a TD cat back, Valenti's and a K&N on it now. The Admiral quote is all mods disclosed BUT they do not pay out to replace the mods in the event of loss.

Alz_D 3 Report post Posted January 10, 2020 Just tried LV £961 🤢 Think Admiral is worth a punt for 12 months at this rate.

TheFinners96 2 Report post Posted January 12, 2020 I'm with Admiral at the moment (23, 5yrs ncb live in Hove) and they've been fine, however I haven't made any claims with them so couldn't tell you what they are like for that. Esure and Chris Knott have given me the best quotes for next year's.

james_ly 7 Report post Posted January 13, 2020 I've been with Admiral for years, they price match each time, answer calls quickly on the call centre. I had a claim on my VX220 a few years ago and it went to the specialist repairer no questions asked. Happy customer!
