Al86 4 Report post Posted December 30, 2019 Hello all, I've recently acquired some OEM leather heated seats to replace my cloth ones, but the only catch is that the driver's seat airbag has deployed. Either way, the seat will need rebolstering and stitching I got two options: I take the airbag that is still in my current seat and fit it into the leather seat and then get it repaired. My concerns would be regarding the stitching being too strong and incorrect deployment in the rare event of a crash OR I get a third party to refurb the seat without the airbag and treat it like an aftermarket seat Questions: Is there some kind of ready made resistor or plug readily available to remove the airbag light? Are all parts of the seat sewn together over the frame as one piece, or could an automotive seat refurb company take the leather parts and swap out the cloth on my current seat frames fairly easily? This would allow for keeping the airbag on the same frame and not worry about removing it and refitting I know the seats have zips which could mean an easy swap but I'm not so sure
