L_Pearson21 1 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 Hi Just installed a catback system and it is pretty close if not touching my rear sub frame. Not sure if this will cause any issues. has anyone else had this issue, if so how did you fix it?
Church 209 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 Hmm, i'd think of aftermarket stiffer then stock exhaust hangers at least then.
BRZ-123 174 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 It should be further away, something like this below. If you think it's not clearing, you might need to go to a welder and get it bent into shape as clearly touching and heat will not be good for sub frame. Have you used fresh OEM mounting bushing or old ones?Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
L_Pearson21 1 Report post Posted September 7, 2019 What’s the diameter of your exhaust ? Is it 2.5”
Ade 517 Report post Posted September 12, 2019 No it should have plenty of clearance. Its either not fitted correctly or its been made poorly. Not the best pick but my 2.75" system has about 30mm gap at least
vanko25 70 Report post Posted September 13, 2019 @L_Pearson21 is that the TD system? Mine touches too when it gets hot and metal expands. Will jack the car up at some point to see if I can fix it.
L_Pearson21 1 Report post Posted September 13, 2019 Yes it is a TD system... that would be great. was thinking going to a exhaust specialist to see it the can fix the issue.
