economicpygmy 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2019 If say a component related to the cam timing is throwing an error post valve spring recall but not after, who pays for those parts? I haven't had the car back due to problems when the car was tested post recall work which hasn't been straightforward. The car never had ANY errors or faults prior to the work (Subaru Dealer). Common sense would dictate its not me but Im just getting my ducks in a row.
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted July 3, 2019 They generally should cover it. I had a problem with an oil control valve post recall, it was changed under warranty. The oil control valve was merely disturbed during the work. Ah, you're going through Subaru. Might be a bit more difficult then.

They don't have the resources of Toyota for obvious reasons. Not many have been through Subaru simply because they sold so few cars.
economicpygmy 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2019 Ah I see, well hopefully its enough that they removed parts that immediately failed.
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted July 4, 2019 I had a problem with an oil control valve causing the car to stall on occasion and making it sound like a Subaru, but not in a good way below 3K rpm. That threw up an error code relating to cam timing/sensor. It also affected the idle, hence the stalling issue. That was done under warranty post recall, it's a really easy fix. So yes they should fix it.
