Dansol 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2019 Ive recently bought a 2014 GT86 and have been noticing a smell of gas around the car, on closer inspection it is a petrol smell coming from the rear right wheel arch after driving. There is no smell when the car has been left. It’s booked in at the Toyota dealership next Monday and will not be driven until then. I thought that it would be worth asking to see if there’s anything obvious that I should be looking for that could be causing it? Cheers!

Dansol 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2019 I was thinking that, do you not think that there would be a constant fuel smell if this was the case though?
Badger 63 Report post Posted April 23, 2019 I had it on one of my old cars which had sat at a dealers for a long time. There was a strong fuel smell when I had filled up and cornered. The big give away for me was when I cleaned the car and then drove round the block and there was a fuel stain down the car. It only happened when the tank was brimmed Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
Dansol 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2019 Ahhh, thanks very much for the response but I think I can rule this out. Just took it for a quick spin with about 1/4 tank of petrol and there is zero smell coming from the filler cap but it is coming from above the rear right wheel.
