The main idea behind them is to have the performance of Coilovers but when you get to a bad road / bump you raise it up. 95% of the time you drive with them aired out so it's acting as a basic top mount. From what I read they're designed to be used to raise the car up for a little amount of time. Not to be driven while aired up all the time.
