My GT86 Progress Thread

Recommended Posts

C&P From GT86OwnersClub, Hoping this forum is a bit more lively..

So I finally picked my GT86 up today! After having to work until 9pm I was finally able to take it out and have a drive! Only round town but took it down some roads outside of town and loved it! Cant wait to stop modifying LOL

Got a few things planned such as wheels, coilovers, exhaust, intake etc..
Car is booked in to get the headlights and fogs tinted on Tuesday and going to see how much to tint the windows as well.

Now all I need to do is decide between wheels or exhaust for my first mod. The tyres on the back are just standard budget ones so im thinking to get wheels first. I have seen some 2Forge ZF1s that I like, I prefer the multi spoke on the GT86 rather than the 5 or 6 spoke alloys. Just need to convince my self to fork out £1400 for the wheels and MPS4s LOL

Ill try upload the one photo I took of it once I got it home. Added 2 stickers so far in matte black so not in your face but you know theyre there. Then its going to have a massive clean on sunday as the engine bay is FILTHY! Then going with my mates S5 and M140i to get some nice photos of them all together Smile

image_2017-04-28_23-01-44.jpeg

So today I added a shark fin aerial, de badged the back and added some stickers as well as a sun strip smiley1.gif

image_2017-04-29_16-26-08.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-26-19.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-26-31.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-26-45.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-26-57.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-27-09.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-27-19.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-27-29.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-27-39.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-27-51.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-28-13.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-28-25.jpegimage_2017-04-29_16-28-37.jpeg

All stickers are Matte Black so that they don't stand up so much.

Going to give it a proper clean tomorrow and then it is booked in on Tuesday to get the front headlights and fogs tinted smiley4.gif

image_2017-04-29_22-14-33.jpegimage_2017-04-29_22-14-49.jpegimage_2017-04-29_22-15-00.jpegimage_2017-04-29_22-15-15.jpegimage_2017-04-29_22-15-25.jpeg

So me and my mates in their M140i and S5 went to go get some photos and the location I want to go to but we weren't allowed in because they were filming... smiley19.gif

So we went to a nearby village and happened to come accross an Alpina meet so we decided to gate crash it and take some photos

image_2017-04-30_17-52-27.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-52-36.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-52-48.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-09.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-17.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-29.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-38.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-48.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-53-58.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-54-13.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-54-27.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-54-47.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-55-16.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-55-30.jpegimage_2017-04-30_17-56-02.jpeg

Went down to Peterborough to get my front windows and fog lights tinted.. Wanted to go for same light as my dads on his S3 but cos of the shape of the GT86 lights I had to go a shade darker! Still think it looks awesome tho  Just need to spray the indicators one weekend cos he said they would be too hard to do.

Anyway here's some photos image_2017-05-02_11-00-24.jpegimage_2017-05-02_11-00-34.jpegimage_2017-05-02_11-00-46.jpegimage_2017-05-02_11-00-56.jpegimage_2017-05-02_11-01-04.jpeg

When I tackle the indicators im going to try red out the rear lights as well... Also going to re book in to get darker window tints all round.

Just a few photos, going to go and pick up an exhaust and rear lights tomorrow night and then fit Saturday morning smiley1.gif can't wait! smiley4.gif

So yesterday me and my dad took a trip down to billericay and Basildon to pick up my decat exhaust and smoked valenti rear lights. Got back at 10pm to wake up at 8am and start fitting.. Absolutely love how the exhaust and lights look!

image_2017-05-06_16-05-31.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-05-42.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-05-56.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-06-08.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-06-18.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-06-27.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-06-37.jpeg

Also got round to fitting my K&N panel filter

image_2017-05-06_16-07-18.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-07-27.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-07-36.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-07-45.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-07-54.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-08-03.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-08-12.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-08-22.jpegimage_2017-05-06_16-08-31.jpeg

Only had the car a week so going to leave the mods for a while, only things I am going to do is plastidio the Toyota badges and tint spray the indicators and side repeaters. After that it will be save up for some coilovers and new wider wheels.

Plastidipped the front and rear Toyota badges today

image_2017-05-07_13-38-20.jpegimage_2017-05-07_13-38-32.jpeg

Also did the GT86 side gender logos, just waiting on them to dry before I add a few coats of glossifier onto them.

Got my small plates and even smaller plate.. Think I may run into a few problems with that one tho.. What do people think? Run the smallest one or the one in the middle?

image_2017-05-12_10-24-17.jpeg

I also tinted it so this is what it would look like on the car..

image_2017-05-12_10-24-33.jpeg

image_2017-05-13_15-50-17.jpegimage_2017-05-13_15-50-58.jpegimage_2017-05-13_15-51-28.jpegimage_2017-05-13_15-53-01.jpegimage_2017-05-13_15-53-38.jpeg

Tinted the front and side indicators to finish the front end.
Now need to make the choice between wider wheels first or coilovers
image_2017-05-13_17-38-08.jpegimage_2017-05-13_17-38-40.jpegimage_2017-05-13_17-39-09.jpeg

Should have private plates on next week

Finally my private plates are on
image_2017-05-23_10-55-21.jpegimage_2017-05-23_10-55-35.jpeg

Rear plate sticks out like a sore thumb but got some more lamin x on the way to tint it and re do the front as the left over lamin x I had before didn't quite cover it! By about 2mm in one corner!

Should have private plates on next week

image_2017-05-27_22-24-37.jpeg

Back end it now complete until I find a second hand smoked valenti fog light

Fitted my roof spoiler from Tarmac Sportz today!

image_2017-06-03_14-05-50.jpegimage_2017-06-03_14-06-05.jpeg

Hard to get a decent photo but IRL in looks amazing! For the price you can't go wrong.

Picking my wheels up on the 24th and then ill be booking in at Tuning Developments to get some BC racing coilovers fitted. Then it will go in for some window tints and sideskirts/splitter/rear spats. Then finally the reverse light will be changed to the smoked valenti one. After that will be the big save for turbo kit and BBK.

I have, but I'm not a big window tint fan so not for me I don't think.

For your front plate an import size one looks good, I've got a 13"x7" plate on mine but that's on the TRD front

Yeah I looked into a couple of sizes but the one I have fits perfectly there so going to keep with that one :)

Welcome aboard, you have been busy! Sort of like a Stealth look. Must admit, not sure what 'murdered' in this context means!

Haha Murdered is the American term to Stealth I think, not that im American... Just prefer the term :)

Haha maybe I should have titled it differently... 😂

Not much has happened, fitted a BlackMarket Drive Tribe sticker to my sun strip and that's about it. Picking up some new wheels next weekend and then it will be booked in at Tuning Developments for some BC Racing Coilovers.

Here's a few photos

After taking this photo I decided it needs dropping ASAP!

Getting my funds together and then it will be time to book in with Mike at TD for the BC Racing Coilovers

That is crying out to be lowered. It's the way of things that the moment you put aftermarket wheels on it will look too high! Good deal on the BC's then? Most seem to go for Tein Flex A's.

I knowww :( TD offer BC Racing coilovers supplied fitted and wheel alignment for £999 so going to do that. I've seen everyone goes for Teins but Ive always heard good things about BC and with that offer it just makes sense :)
