18 inch tyre profile question

Considering 18 inch wheels, but I would like a tyre profile that would raise the ground clearance of the car, as sometimes over speed bumps my Cosworth exhaust grounds slightly, and i don't want to make this worse.  Car is lowered one inch on Eibachs.  I know this  will compromise sidewall flex and handling, but they are less of a priority for me.

225/40 is often used on 18's (I'm assuming 8" wide) and will raise the car 5.95mm and will only alter the speedo reading by 1.87%

Go for some 255/60, that'll give you some clearance

In what way? If you're driving 40mph will it read 38 or 42? In what way does it alter the bigger wheels you have?

Running 225/40 18 on mine lowered on the same springs as you and find the fitment and drive spot on compared to the stock wheel size.

 

PS mine are 8.5inch wide so have a little stretch. Fitment would be perfect on 8inch and nice and square
