Red leather fading

Recommended Posts

Hey, Don't know if this is in the right part of the forums apologies if not.

My 14 plate 86 had the red leather trim, but there's a tiny bit of fade on the steering wheel already. Only done 16k! Is there anything I can do to prevent this or make it look New again?

sorry this is late, but plenty of leather detailing products around, although not all have UV protection which is what you need (so for example I use 3M leather wipes on my steering wheel which are great for getting rid of that hard shiny look that builds up on on the former matt areas due to oil from your hands, but I don't think it has any UV protection). Stuff like this is probably worth a look - leather milk

I've been using this quite a lot this week to protect leather, post cleanse with Dr Leather

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/leather-care/gtechniq-l1-ab-anti-bacterial-leather-guard/prod_1093.html

It's easy to work with and leaves a pleasant finish. It's the first time I've used it though, so can't comment on longevity yet.
