Good local dealers - Milton Keynes

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

If I read my maintenance schedule correctly, I'm due a cam belt in March.

I'm in MK.

Anyone used any of the following Suabru dealers;

Wellingborough

Daventry

Ayelsbury

Will be needing a Belt and service, will check if i need box/diff oil yet, it will be on less than 20k at 4 years old.

Or anyone know if I can use a good local Indy? - Ideally want to keep the warranty.

It's all in the service book, but take care reading it, for stuff that is applicable to the GT86.

Service is every 10K miles or every year whatever comes sooner. Odd numbers i.e., 10, 30, 50K etc are intermediate services. Even numbers are full services. Every 20K the diff oil needs to be changed.

At 60K that is when the spark plugs need doing and the most expensive of all is at 80k when the fuel filter is changed.

Only ever been to Daventry for warranty work. But they've done the job well everytime. So I guess I can't fault them. Been to the Aylesbury dealership but couldn't see their service department so I can't comment. I just get my car serviced down at Abbey Motorsport.

@SimonB95 didn't you get your car serviced at Daventry?

Thanks, will re-read.

It will be out of warranty by the time 60 or 80k comes round so it will be either DIY or Indie Specialist, my housemate is ex Prodrive so no worries there, and I can do services without any drama, loathe paying £40+ an hour for a job that really isn't hard.

Will probably do the fuel filter myself this year as at 4 years old I'm not sure I still want it on the car.

@TTR What was the damage at Abbey? PM if you like

I'd recommend Abbey as well, but if you don't want to travel so far there's an independent Subaru specialist near Silverstone whose got a good reputation, Northants Subaru I think.

Changing the fuel filter is quite an involved job as you have to take out the rear seats and the filter is of course in the tank. Then you have to be mindful of not creating any air locks as otherwise the fuel will not draw from one side of the tank. It's not worth doing at four years old, the service schedule for changing it is not until 80K miles.
