Lauren 2259 Report post Posted October 8, 2015 Just a concept though, but makes more sense in regard to using something akin to the MX5 platform as other rumours (which are all they are really) have said: http://blog.caranddriver.com/toyota-s-fr-concept-small-front-engine-rear-drive-sign-us-up/

chillismoke 182 Report post Posted October 8, 2015 Wow are they really going to release a car more fugly than the Prius!!!? I can't find one design/thing on this car I actually like, it looks like it's based on the ultimate "Brightons hairdresser car"Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted October 8, 2015 I reckon the colour doesn't help, but otherwise I think there is some potential there.
rob275 1817 Report post Posted October 8, 2015 could be a cool little car, it's very round and only a concept. I think it could do with looking a little more aggresive.

Tareim 343 Report post Posted October 8, 2015 Copy of Honda S800 if it's going to be a copy/spiritual successor of anything it would be the Toyota Sports

Lauren 2259 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 Yeah, definitely homage to the Toyota Sports 800, which makes sense when you think about it, given the GT's homage to the 2000GT in respect of styling details.
Moro 13 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 I like it. And I like the fact the Toyota is back making sports cars. Of course it's far from the sweet 90's when every major Japanese manufacturer produced a few sport models, but it is a step in the right direction. Now Nissan, maybe you would reconsider abandoning the IDX project?
Varelco 211 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 I remember reading somewhere that Toyota were looking for a 3 sports car line up with the GT86 being in the middle, so this makes sense (the FT-1 'Supra' being the top dog). My guess is like Lauren said in that its based on the new MX5 chassis, the Fiat 124 Spider looks to share this too. Love the fact that Toyota are basing these new cars on their classics, however I dont rate this one, the lines dont flow very well, its pretty ugly.
Kodename47 446 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 The one to watch is still the S1000 IMO. The S660 is cool and the Mugen one is looking a bit crazy. I always did like the Beat though for it's quirky character and Kei cars are cool when done well. This sits just above those though I guess.Love the old S800, AZ1, Beat and Cappucino... Tareim 343 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 The same way 4 people (with no legs) fit in our car... exactly they can't have any legs to fit which makes them virtually useless, especially as this one is shorter in length
Nicebiscuit 655 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 It's pig ugly. But kind of cute. And four people fit just fine in my 86. It's my family car (whether they like it or not...) 2 tegunulgener and Polishingpedlar reacted to this
