Best Glass Cleaner

Recommended Posts

Thought you folks may have some expert advice, having just bought a new van I now have even more glass to try and keep clean. What recommendations do you have for glass cleaner and applicating cloth / paper they all seem to smear.

I've tried a lot of different cleaners, some a lot better than others (I currently like armorall glass cleaner), but while on the outside glass a twice a year proper prep, polish and sealant routine is my best tip for clean windows. on the inside (and where you need to be gentle on the rear heating element etc.), I've found the biggest improvement came when I discovered that specific glass cleaning microfibres were indeed a huge improvement on 'normal' microfibre cloths (for wax buffing and the like) for streak-free windows. Just getting something like this should mean immediate better results when using the same cleaner - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kent-Car-Care-40-x-40cm-Microfibre-Glass-Cloth-Soft-Gentle-No-Scratches-Q6900-/111613233427?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19fcaac913

I use the G-Techniq Perfect Glass with a microfibre cloth: http://gtechniq.com/products/auto/perfect/exterior/paint/g6-perfect-glass

Just bought myself this  http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/glass-cleaners-sealants/gtechniq-perfect-glass-care-kit/prod_1322.html

I have some Gtechnig stuff and it's first rate

Detailing is always personal, I've used Megs and many samples from Waxybox, back when it was a thing. So far Stoner Invisible Glass is the best one I've used. As well as cleaning, it has the perfect flash time to allow you to work it fully and not leave streaks.

I'd apply it with a regular quality MF towel, but microsuede cloths are good on glass

They're all good. I bought loads for round the house (tablets, phones, monitors, TVs).

Why not go mad and put the RainX down, if you're after a quality hydrophobic glass sealant, try http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/glass-cleaners-sealants/gtechniq-glass-sealant-kit/prod_911.html you'll maybe apply it twice a year and it shifts water so well you'll never need your wipers again ;)

Keep meaning to try Gtechniq sealants, Initially started using Angelwax H2GO once a month, didn't touch my wipers for over a year. Only started using Rain X because it was easier to get hold of..

I spend way to much money on that site haha!

I find RainX was ok as long as you keep it regularly topped up and don't ever want to stop using it. Once it starts to break down or you stop topping up, it starts to smear like crazy and then you need to shift it with something fairly strong like a glass polish or clay or both.
