I've done some data logs on the intake temps. With just the open HKS intake I was seeing intake temps in excess of 40° above ambient. With the box and wrapping I was seeing 3-7° above ambient and with the box, wrapping and scoop I was seeing ambient to 2° above ambient even after 20/25 minute sessions on track. Certainly seems quite effective.

I also recently took part in the club trackday at Silverstone (thanks @VAD17)

Driving standards were pretty ropey as a lot of race teams were using it as a testday rather than the trackday it was supposed to be but it was still fun when you found a little space.

Video is using an external mic mounted on the rear bumper so isn't as loud as it appears.

The 40deg intake temps weren't whilst driving were they?  Or were they taken before the carbon bonnet?

That gigantic scoop seems to be doing a good job like!  Any noticeable effect on coolant temps?

Digging the all custom work you've done!

Cheers!

The 40° above ambient intake temps were while driving. I can't remember if I had the carbon bonnet on at that point or not but if I did I would have had the vent covers on.

No noticeable change on coolant temps that I've seen.

I took my car up to TD to check the mapping hadn't been affected by the new scoop. It had a little and the scoop gave extra headroom for further tweeks giving a nice gain across the board in both power and torque (almost 10 hp and 10 lbft in places). Not bad for a scoop.

6 year service and MOT completed today.

Brake pads are almost past their best so I've picked up a set of front Pfc 08 pads from a fellow forum member to try. Just need to get the matching rear pads and some new discs ordered and then will aim to get them fitted in the summer.

Could you post a link for the intake scoop please, I'm having trouble finding it?

Greddy, Laile Beatrush and Leg Motorsport (https://www.japanparts.com/parts/list.php?dl=2&cm=178&md_sm=1:129) all make a similar ones. Can't find the Autofactory on any of the usual Japanese parts sites

Verus supply some black painted steel nuts for the splitter end plates but do say they may rust. They certainly do in the UK, becoming one rusty boi quite quickly IMG_20190603_162157.thumb.jpg.d0297d01ed7bcece302ef2187c566f43.jpg

So I ordered some titanium replacements as, due to their location, they can end up 'sat' in water so I'm hoping the extra corrosion resistance of titanium will keep them looking decent

Those titanium nuts won't rust at all if they are commercially pure Ti. Are the bolts Ti as well? Otherwise they will get accelerated corrosion from the use of the titanium connected to it. I. E. Galvanic corrosion.

Bolts are stainless steel but I've been told they should be OK with the titanium nuts. If it does seem corrosion's a problem I'll swap to titanium bolts too
